Question for those of you with Blacklines...
I finally ordered a set and got them installed a short time ago.
While doing a walk-around afterword, I noticed there appears to be some white light bleed above the red area when the tail lights are on. It's not really an issue when you get down and look at them straight on; just from above. Given that, I guess it's not a huge deal, but just not something I expected to see on an OEM part. While I might still have a chance of exchanging them (ugh), is this normal, or did I get a Friday afternoon set? |

I noticed that on my regular taillights the other day.

Same on every pair of Blacklines I have ever seen.

It's normal.
Actually, it may be surprise you but it looks better like that at night from a distance , as opposed to having that section completely dark.

Just get a red 1156 bulb and replace the one that lights up the three red light bars. Problem solved.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Glad to hear it's not unique to mine, at least.
Well, that's a thought. The only thing I wonder about is if the extra layer of red tint on the bulb itself might cut the light output too much. Might be worth a try, though. |

I did it on my E90 in the past and it worked fine. I don't have a problem with decreased light output. It was just a cheap 1156 bulb that I found on ebay
