Tools Required:

• Pry Tool
• Painter's Tape
• T10 Torx

STEP 1: Place a layer of painter’s tape against the mirror base to prevent any damage during the mirror cap removal process.



STEP 2: Tilt the mirror glass completely down which provides access to either insert your fingers or a pry tool and gently pry the mirror glass off the motor.







STEP 3: Remove the mirror heating connectors to provide extra slack and let the glass hang freely.



STEP 4: Insert your pry tool into the clips that secure the mirror cap to the base housing. While doing so, use your other hand to gently pry the top of the mirror cap away from the housing.





STEP 5: Using both hands, remove the mirror cap from the base and disconnect the turn signal indicator lamp.





STEP 6: Remove the T10 Torx screws securing the turn signal indicator and slide it slightly to unlock from the retention clips. Transfer the indicator to the new carbon mirror caps.



















STEP 7: Plug in the turn signal indicator lamp and line the BMW M Performance carbon cap up with the mirror base. Once properly in position, use uniform pressure to snap the carbon cap into place.







STEP 8: Reconnect the mirror heater connectors and press the mirror glass back onto the motor again using uniform pressure.
