I used BimmerCode, it works too. When I bought it I wasn't even aware there was a BimmerLink and still don't fully understand the differences.

BimmerCode is for all the features (seats, lights, windows, etc) and BimmerLink is more for diagnostics (battery registration, clearing faults, pulling trouble codes, etc.).
They just just happen to overlap with the ASD feature but only BimmerLink can code out burbles and open/close valves. |

Pretty much.
Also confirming that the valve open option on BimmerLink is temporary, 10 minutes at best before the valve operation reverts back to factory settings. The app needs to be running with your phone for the valve setting to be remembered. Weird because the burble aka "sound tuning" settings are saved and the app doesn't need to run. |

I used bimmercode to turn off ASD and bimmerlink to turn off the burbles (sound tuning). Once you have turned off the burbles with bimmerlink, you don't need to be connected to the app with the obd hooked up. However if you use bimmerlink to turn off asd, it will not remember that setting unless you remain plugged in to the obd with the app running.

Edit - Never mind me. You are correct, ASD Is NOT persistent with BimmerLink. I just checked and mine is off because I have it off with BimmerCode. So you need BimmerLink to turn off the burbles and BimmerCode to turn off ASD for good. Sorry about that. |

Reason being I believe the previous owner disabled it, but i’m unsure how (bimmerlink, bimmercode, etc….) I verified and there’s no physical harness. |

Any dealer that gives you a hard time about warranty after coding out ASD or adding comfort fold on your mirrors is garbage.
