M2 CS delivery - USA (MB - 6MT - 2NH - BLK 763M - Cup2) - CS flip flopper delivery

Spec:

Misano Blue
Manual
Cup 2 tires
Black wheels
Steel Brakes

Well, today was the day.. after an agonizing decision process and an even more agonizing wait, especially the last leg of it.. I took delivery today!

I flip and flopped on this car so much during the fall.. I first put money on an allocation sometime in Sept but I had trouble letting go of my 2018 BMW m3 comp in Yas Marina.. The M2 CS was not the best financial decision, not because I couldn't afford it but comparing the value to dollar to my m3-- that reality pulled at me again and again and it allowed other excuses/reasons to not get the car to sink in. I put my name down on 2 allocations and I pulled out and I was done.. until a dealer near by got another allocation in the last wave we saw and I just pulled the trigger and fully committed.

I didn't really have any thoughts to pull out again and the reviews that came in on the car further fortified my commitment. It was buy out my m3 comp lease at 55k, get a new g80 m3 lease, or finance the m2 cs. I kept getting drawn to the smaller wheelbase.. and the manual. I haven't had a manual since my 2008 civic SI and S2000 before it. I took stock of when and how I drove my M3 and realized this car is perfect for the canyons and my kind of driving, aka not a daily driver.

I leased my M3 with the intent to buy it - took care of it with that in mind, kept it low miles, etc -- but the high production numbers just didn't feel very exclusive to me. so here we are!

I had PPF'd my M3 in different phases.. starting with the front clip and then later adding the doors and nearly the rest of the car. I told myself the next car I would ask the dealer to not molest it and I would flat bed it to my preferred PPF shop and do the whole car in 1 shot - and that's what I did!

Mucho thanks to Charles at Winslow BMW and the great people at Denver Auto Shield that are now protecting her. I feel blessed, while not a super car - I wasn't born into a wealthy family, so to be able to custom order a 100k car, have it untouched as if it was a boxed package and drop it off to put a plastic wrap on it on a flatbed.. it just feels special to be in that kind of position in life. I will enjoy this one!

We did have a little scare.. the flatbed driver nearly, I'm talking by mere centimeters almost scraped the front lip.. the car looks high but that lip hangs low, I included a screencap of a video of just how close it was.. some plywood later and we were good.. getting this car safely after such a long journey to get PPF was such a big sigh of relief.

COVID life..

Finally safe..

I got some pics from the PPF place after they took off the factory protectant!

Great story. The car pulled you in and everyone who drove it made you a believer. Many miles in good health to you and the MB.

Nice Congrats! I thought I was reading my own story to an extent. I too leased a 2018 M3 ZCP, with the intent to buy, PPF'ing it up only swapalease it away. Just had to have the M2 CS. It's a special car that deserves how well we treat it.

Best of all you have spectacular taste as I have it in the same exact spec minus rubber.

It was funny - as I had parked the m3 next to the m2 cs- this older couple in an x4m pulled up and both were immediately gravitated to the car. I got to hear all the comments and they had no idea they were both technically mine for those few moments haha. He didn’t like the paint on the misano- but I like it a lot more than yas. It was awesome how much he knew about the m2 cs.

Congratulations! You also win the award for the best COVID dress up picture for delivery! My wife and I owned a 2016 YAS M3 and loved every minute of it. She is still bitter about me selling it a few years back. That was a truly special color! Can't wait for a driver's review.

On a side note, we make it to Denver and Estes Park quite often. Unfortunately, I am usually driving the family Subi around. Would love to see and experience the CS sometime in the canyons and mountains around the area.

Congrats! Man, that approach angle onto the tow truck doesn't even look that steep, I hope I can get my CS into my driveway!

congrats! i was also debating for a while on which car to get. I looked at latest vipers, 991.2 carrera S/T/, 991 Turbo/GT3, new M3, etc... then i just had an epiphany, I loved my comp so much, that it was hard to get into anything else. Considering the CS was a step above, and the fact that it is such a limited car, made the choice that much easier.

What do all your mods do?

I am just happy to see that I am not the only one that flip flopped several times on this car. I pretty much went through all the GT and GTS Porsche choices as well as the new M3 with a manual. I have a e92 DCT so manual was a must. Then I was going back and forth on BSM vs MB. I have another 5 weeks to wait since I got one of the last builds and I am picking it up at the PDC. I may be the last delivery thread on this site once I receive it

Looks like we both finally came to the right conclusion......

PS: we have a Yas Marina blue M3 in the neighborhood and my wife and I love the stance and appearance. Your pic reinforced that I was right to go with MB and wait vs. an immediately available BSM with the same specs. I am even more excited now.

By no means were you the only one. I drove a manual Comp, a DCT Comp, a manual 718 GT4, a manual 718 GTS 4.0, a PDK 718 GTS 4.0, and considered a few other cars over the last several months. In addition, I thought about keeping my OG M2 and adding one of several classics like a M coupe, M roadster, E36 M3, etc. It took me about 3 months and 20 different conversations with friends and wife to choose the CS.

BSM looks fantastic in this car - but its black and a bitch to maintain. This Misano blue has different shades depending on light. My favorite is night time with gas station lighting

I will warn you that MB looks a little different on camera than it does in person, might be worth finding an X2 or Z4 with the color, but I love it in person as well

You actually need to come out with a gloss carbon shifter with red stitched boot. There is no matte carbon fiber in the car (only M2C has matte).

Working on it. Just received some CS parts to get the color match for the red stitching.

Hoooooold on, this may be the most exciting news of the day! You were able to source a gloss carbon shifter too? I thought those were NLA, or at least have been every time I've tried to find one the last couple of years.

Jumped the gun, it would be the matte carbon shift boot. However we like a challenge so lets see if I can source something in gloss carbon.
