Well, I drove a thousand kilometres to see the beast.
I discovered a simple yet life altering fact; on my part at least if not for most other folks, it is absolutely impossible to encapsulate a four dimensional reality into a 2-dimensional image. Apologies for poor image quality, but I tell you what, I'm lost for words about how amazing this car is. more to come soon

Gold wheels for the win!
They look so damn elegant, almost like a brushed gold hue. I just want to wear them around my neck like a pendant Excellent choice |

The dealer manager told me, and I quote, "In all my time selling BMWs, having sold some very exciting and expensive models (eg there was a M8, for around $300k, waiting behind mine to be delivered next week), this M2CS has been the absolute best one". Such is the commanding stance of this car that yesterday when he delivered a 2020 M5C with gold wheels (wheels sources from US), apparently the buyer having seen the beast in the flesh, had mentioned he regretted not buying the M2CS instead of the M5C now that he could see it in the flesh. Such is the commanding stance of this car

This happens every year in South Australia. It's not necessarily a "track day" event but in our dedicated racetrack in the city and closed roads in the Adelaide Hills.
Sadly, this year it will be impossible for me as I won't have enough time to run in the engine. By next year, things will be different. And the best part, ALL BMWs from all over the place. What a treat it will be to be able to partake In case anyone is interested to join in the fun, this year or the next, this is the link: https://www.adelaiderally.com.au/adelaide-rally

My baby is finally where she belongs (until tonight when she'll grow fangs and bite bitumen)
Early thoughts, anyone who complained about this car is a bum, period. This car is everything you could hope for and then some. Whilst I've only driven her 12km, I'm simply astonished at how connected it is, how incredibly WILLING and equally CAPABLE she is. Forget 5500RPM, @4000 a blind Freddy can see how much there is to tap into. I'm not going to say she is perfect because if I do then BMW will stop making better cars, but you know what; she is as close to perfect as you can get and that's perfect to me. Markus Flasch, you have done me proud. More to come EDIT: I'm not sure why the photo got rotated when uploading; any ideas? Artemis maybe you'd know how I can fix it?

Please get yourselves a cup of tea or coffee with a dash of whiskey, sit back and relax, for this is going to be an epic story.
.... so this is how we got here: After purchasing my first BMW, the M235i, I fell in love with everything that car represented and decided to get the M2 soon thereafter. Around this time, I heard about Manhart 550MH. I began talking to Christof from Manhart. We came up with a plan for me to take delivery of an Australian spec M2 in Germany. They would pull out the engine, suspension, exhaust, brakes, hood, roof, and boot lid. in replacement, a S55 would go in with the rest as per MH550 with CF everywhere. Enroute to Spain for a scientific conference, I had my flight diverted to Germany due to Catalonian unrest, as a result of which and unexpectedly so, I landed in Frankfurt on the opening day of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. What an eye opener that was. Upon my return to Australia, when I took my Baby M for service, having heard me utter the above story, my service manager told me BMW might be doing a limited edition M2 CSL and showed me some artist renders. Without thinking twice about it, I put down a $2000 deposit - that was second week of February 2018. Around April, I was invited to test drive the new M2 Competition. I liked the car a lot, but somehow I didn't love it at all. No matter how many times I try to answer why I didn't love it, I can't; it just didn't feel how I expected it to feel. In fact, dumb as it might sound, I thought the M235i was a better car. Maybe it's my ailing back which screamed for mercy; I'm not sure. In the meantime, with two elderly parents, the 235 proved too cumbersome so in late June 2019 I bought a 420i M-Sport and had it stage-1 tuned to 196kW. Everytime I started that car, having driven 6-cylinder cars for 30 years, I missed the 235 and hoped for a miracle. Later in that year, I was told there would be no M2 CSL but a CS might be on the cards with 70 to 100 allocations for Australia. Fearing not being able to get an allocation in my home town, I placed a second order with a dealer I had purchased the other two Bimmers from. In January 2020, both dealers offered me a car. I had an AW DCT CCB in Adelaide and a MB 6MT CCB in Victoria offered to me. My local dealer, the only one in an area the size of France, asked for $10k on top of MSRP before taxes which would effectively mean $15k extra above MSRP. The Victorian dealer offered the MB car for $4500 + taxes which came to six Grand above MSRP. BUT, they gave me a discount on the car itself which brought the overall package to nearly $15 below the other dealer meaning MSRP without dealer delivery fees. It was a no-brainer, local dealer lost out - for the third time. When the car arrived, I drove 1100km to see her in late January. She was simply stunning. So much so that I stood there in awe drooling for 15 minutes. Then I handed my dealer manager a $200 bottle of whiskey and returned home. When going past the local racetrack ( The Bend ), I realised, "Crap, I drove 1100km to see the car and never even sat in the car". While in Melbourne, I had organised to have PPF and ceramic coating done for $15k (USD$12K) with one of the best outfits in the world and he promised to finish it before end of March but there was a snap lockdown in Victoria in late February. Earlier this month, I received a phone call from them saying due to the lockdown and the resulting backlog of pending jobs, they couldn't finish it before end of April. Faced with another two months' wait, I felt it best to get her home and have it done locally. So she arrived this morning. When I took her to the holding yards of the local dealer to have the blocks removed, I was told there is a local billionaire who owns the local racetrack and has every CS in the range (including the new M5CS) as well as the M4GTS in his collection and the only one he's missing is the M2CS and the spec he wants is exactly the one I have. "He's prepared to pay $250K for the car right now" the yard manager said (Drive-Away price at MSRP is around $185k). I gave them my card and said "Get him to call me". I received a phone call ten minutes later from the local dealer on behalf of the buyer. He asked me why I didn't buy from them locally. I replied, "Because my money wasn't good enough for you". After a long discussion, he said he was willing to take the car off my hands for $250k to which I replied "Your money isn't good enough for me" ///M TOWN IS HERE TO STAY BOOM, THAT JUST HAPPENED Mic drop, MadRad out

Thanks Mike, sadly PPF and coating have yet to be done after all that time waiting. See explanation above. I'll do my best brother, but you know how damned difficult it is to keep the car straight Mate, it feels even better going sideways than it looks
