Fun review, really enjoyed it! Only thing I ask is let's not turn this into a 6MT vs DCT thread.

I seriously hope that there are guys in the M department that realize how good they've made this car, and transfer that knowledge to the G87 (everything from driving dynamics, ride comfort, gearing ect...). Should they screw it up though, the F87 will be my last addition to the fleet.

The F87CS is like the Fast & Furious story; great effort on every new iteration but never as good as the first one!

G87CS, however good the M-Gods can make it, will never be as good as the F87CS - but that's just my opinion and I admit I might be wrong

Funnily enough I hated F&F, but didn't mind some of the later ones after Tokyo Drift.

I think BMW has got it in them to make the G87 truly amazing in my opinion. We've just been here too many times. People bemoaned about how going away from NA engines was against their DNA. Or EPS vs hydraulic steering ect ect... yet here we are. That's why I'm looking forward to seeing the new M3/4 reviews because that might give us a small glimpse.

Having said that, the F87CS is a perfect send off for this platform that is universally loved. It's not the first time seeing it mentioned in same sentence as GT4 and doing well. There's no doubt to me BMW created one of the best M's ever made with this one

I feel like the G87 will still be a blast to drive , and for sure performance will be a bit better ! All i hope , is to remain a drivers car. Simplicity is rare nowadays. Everything is complicated.. "too much".

Deal breaker? Nah!

I agree. Just picked mine up and I believe it may be best BMW ever.
M Cars I've owned:
E30 M3(2)
E39 M5
E60 M5
E36 M3 (3)
E46 M3
E86 Z4 MC (2)
E87 1M
F80 M4

And a ton of non M BMW's.

Still have the 1M and a Z4 MC and the M2 CS beats them in every department.

Was this not the same argument folks were making about the 1M when the F87 was coming/released?

Those black winter wheels > golden rims! Suit the car quite well!

That's high praise.

Care to elaborate as to why? I see a GT3 in the sig but I know it doesn't compare to that.

Cool review, love these guys if I could get an M2 CS in the UK I would have happily waited, saved up and got one. Unfortunately regulations have ruined that chance and the M2 CS will never be available here (other than the small amount that has already sold). For those that were lucky to get one, wow, do they have a collectors piece on their hands... I just hope they actually get driven.

Other than that, I disagree with their assessment of 'manual is so much better'. Having driven both back-to-back when making my decision it was DCT all the way for me. But, all comes down to personal preference and I appreciate their opinion.

Good review

I have to stop watching these reviews. I want mine in my garage now. Wow- the praise in this video is crazy- they put themselves out there.

Better than the 1m, best car they drove all year and if you were “dumb” enough to pay the asking price apparently you’re actually a genius, especially with the manual.

The people that did buy this car are going to hang onto it no questions asked and it’s really going to help depreciation and even long term value.

This car is special- if you were smart enough to get it, I salute you.

Took awhile for me but I’m glad I secured one.

I want to see Chris Harris and savage geese review it now lol

Starting to see a few reviews now saying this is better than the 1M or even the best M yet.

It will take time to settle but once they're all sold their price as new becomes irrelevant and I expect the F87 CS star will only rise higher.

And the lovely sounds it makes are absolutely intoxicating

However the M2CS does actually sound better then I ever expected

Did this car get its own winter wheel and tire package? or same as the Competition?
