Didn't like the m2 in AW until the cs came out. The black highlights take it to another level! Congrats!

Delivery update

Well I was able to pick up my car on Saturday but unfortuanlly we were hit with a bit of snow so I went to my next option which was to trailer the car home in style in a 47' trailer. We were able to do a bit of a Youtube delivery video and it is in process but we have not been able to drive the car much because of the weather.

Some things I have noticed between my M3CS and my M2CS:

Sound: My M3cs was much louder, the car had more pops and gurgles in sport mode than the M2cs. I am not sure if the car has a break in period where the exhaust gets louder but on my M3cs the sound was much deeper and raw. I hope the M2cs gets deeper, maybe someone can provide their experience?

Ride: To my surprise the M2cs seems much more planted and surefooted, it almost feels as if the cars tires are planted in the 4 corners better than the M3cs. As I entered a round about the car acted more confident and responsive. I am sure this is attributed the shorter wheelbase of the M2cs.

Brakes: My M3cs had CCB's and I loved every bit of track performance with those brakes but I did not like the lack of response in wet or cold conditions. I always had a heart skip when I applied the brakes and had the short hesitation prior to the grab of the rotor. With the steel brakes it is there and ready when you need it and they feel as powerful as my CCB's on my M3cs.

I am hoping to rip into the car soon but with the weather it may be awhile. So for the time being I will post some pics of the delivery and then share with you wrap I will be choosing and we will go from there.

Looking forward to your review. I'm also going from an M3 CS to an M2 CS which should be arriving in a week. I'm so worried that I'm not going to like the M2 CS sound and it seems that you confirmed it. I liked how the M3 CS sound and was hoping the m2 CS replicate it.

For tires did you also have PSS on the M3 CS?

Yes my CS did have PSS and I was very happy with them. I am not a fan of Cup 2's due to the hydroplane issues. As for the exhaust I am hoping that it is a break in thing where it will eventually get louder. To be honest I have a hard time distinguishing the sport+ from comfort with the windows up.
Full disclosure I have not gone over 4000 RPM either.

IMHO a wise choice. But also keep an eye on tire wear to reduce the risk of hydroplaning.

I hope it will eventually improve. I had PSS too on the M3 CS, but I ultimately felt that it limited the car and couldn't put the toque down, so I opted for the Cup 2 this time. As for hydroplaning, be careful with worn PSS in cold weather, they also tend to be sketchy.

With the PS4S Michelin (also) improved the driving performance in the wet compared to the PSS.

I wish we were getting the PS4S. I have them on my 1M for street use and as a backup for a rainy track day (haven't needed them for that yet) and they are great.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the exhaust when you get your car. Thanks for the heads up on the PSS.

While I don't have previous BMW experience I can comment on my experiences driving it so far. it seems revving the exhaust isn't a good representation of the sound. It really screams and pops and burgles start around 4k RPM. This thing over 4k RPM shifts lets out some pops and burgles on shifting and just sounds mean. I'd suggest anyone thinking about changing the exhaust wait until after break in for sure (Non-OPF at least).

I can't imagine it will be any different than the M3CS, but if you want it to sound at least decent go with the MPE. S55 leaves a lot to be desired sound wise.
