Can anyone tell me the flaws usually attached to the N55 platform , just want to make sure it can be reliable and will last , been looking at either x5, and 335s and i find a lot of them have motors but they don't know what's wrong , anyone can give me some insight what usually fails on those motors ?
I have heard about lifter rattle and blown motors

What does this mean? You mean they have problems with the motor but can't diagnose them?

Most common problem is oil leaks... The N55 is very durable and reliable if properly maintained, including if tuned + FBO. Mechanically, the engine is stout. There's just some small misc things to look out for like the oil leaks, belt tensioner, and around or after 100k, things like water pump/Tstat, coils, etc. But that's not really N55 specific.

Chargepipe & what jeremyman said. Who have you heard these motors blowing from? I'm yet to hear a story about an N55 blowing without it being some crazy high HP number.

+1
These engines are actually really strong engines despite what the n54 guys say, the early years seemed to have more rod bearing problems, but again, there's too many factors to tie that to, maintain it and enjoy it and don't thrash on it til oil is at temp you'll be fine.

N55 is super reliable in my experience. just gets shit on because you can't squeeze as much power out of it as N54 and B58 for similar $$
