     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
The BMW M2 CS has taken the title of EVO Magazine Car of the year 2020.

Not a bad effort considering the company it was in!

Top 4 cars were.....

1st BMW M2 CS
2nd McLaren 765LT
3rd Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD
4th Toyota Yaris GR

Must say, that's an incredible accomplishment given how much EVO is revered by enthusiasts. That said, I personally would take 5 of the 7 competitors over the CS. That's how strong this year's list is.

This summed up the reason why hot hatches only go so far. Great value for the money, but they lack the polish of the more expensive cars.

I tried to see how the Yaris GR would fit into the garage, but i couldn't justify it. The M2CS fills such a broad range for my needs. I would really need to add another unique platform, which is exactly what I was after. A yaris GR would likely leave me wanting some form of 911 that could be a DD. The CS is my DD and leaves room for a GT3/458/Huracan or whatever. I'd like to add something like the latter when my son is old enough to be out of a car seat.

IMHO what a pleasure have both M2 CS and 458 Speciale
Hope you'll enjoy soon !

The M2CS is always up there in these tests, usually against some big hitters too, which is great to see. I think it's also because how great the Comp is personally.

When I read how much BMW had to spend just to test and approve the carbon roof for a small run car, you knew they weren't going for value but the trophy.

very impressive..I think the article summarizes it well. Its a throwback, its why we buy it. Its not the most technical, fastest or circuit racer there is, but it brings you back to what M was. The E36 is what it reminds me of.

I don't need magazines or videos to justify my purchase, BUT this is great to see - my only wish is that people would objectively review the CS without the M2 comp value prop in mind, it seems the ones that do give it glaring reviews.

Either way, I'm going to enjoy the crap out of the car for the next 3-4 years and we'll wait to see what 'status' it gains long term with enthusiasts.

It seems the m2 cs marketing was minimal at best - as more people find out about the car and how newer bmws continue to be a deviation from what BMW was, the m2 cs stock will go up and I'll be happy to have one in the garage.

The e46 m3 and other darlings will continue to age - this car is the closest thing to those vehicles as of right now - so if the g87 m2 goes the way of the g80 m3 in design/weight, I think we'll truly have a special vehicle on our hands. I don't think we'll see many more of these kind of cars with the electric revolution on the horizon.

The M2 (OG, Comp and CS) really is the E39 of this generation in that BMW really can't afford to screw the next one up because the current one is just so good, honestly the best BMW at the moment.

I think that is well deserved too. It's a shame the CS is soooo expensive, but the competition is good enough for most.

eeehhhh I had the M3CS and loved it also but I loved it because it was a great M5 really..what an M5 should be..its big though and the shorter wheelbase is felt immediately..M2 feels like the old E30 relatively

The M2cs is worth the money....period. The conversation should be what an amazing value the M2c is rather than
whether the CS is overpriced.
