Lightbulb N55 Turner Motorsports carbon fiber engine cover

I finally received the N55 Turner Motorsports carbon fiber engine cover I ordered back in May, and can confirm it fits perfectly. I've always disliked how bulky and obtrusive the factory engine cover looks, and this is the solution that fixed it.

I'm thinking about dressing it up with an ///M sticker or possibly the 5 white lines like the other engine covers with stickers from here: http://www.acromann.com/product_info...d=nwnthyjqbsmi

Here's the link for the gloss cover: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...e-cover-gloss/

And the link for the matte cover: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...e-cover-matte/

Here's an install video for those who might need it:

I am not affiliated with Turner and received no compensation, just sharing these links to help out other forum members.

That looks really good. As mentioned, the N55's cover does look like a bulky slab. If there was a way to carry over the ''powered by M'' strip to the Turner cover that could look nice.

Is there any potential problem with not having the other half of the engine covered? I'm just curious. I'm not mechanically savy at all. Looks really nice but I do think having an M touch on it would step it up a bit.

If you put decals on it, I would clear coat over them. I'm concerned the engine bay heat would peel them off without that.

I see you went for keeping the extraneous L-braces in conjunction with the the CF brace. Any signs of rubbing?

Nah, the entire engine cover is aesthetic. You could run no cover at all without problems.

I was having problems with rubbing and have since removed them. If you look in the photo with the new engine cover they're gone.

Only downside I see is more time/effort required to clean the engine. But looks good!

If there's a premade decal for that cover I think I would go for it - otherwise it seems a bit, empty? But I do like the smaller form factor.

Funny you say that. I'm actually working with a graphics decal company right now to have something made. Here are some crude mock-ups I drafted to get started:

Finally received the vinyl stickers I ordered for the Turner engine cover today. Turns out Acromann is in Hong Kong, so my order took 6 weeks to arrive from the original order on 9/18.

Below is the actual result with the stickers applied. Kinda looks photoshopped but I assure you it's the real thing. I will get some photos with it on the car as soon as I can get to the shop where my new turbo is being installed.

For anyone else looking to follow my path, here is what I ordered:

1 x BMW M Power Engine Cover Airbox Decal (Style#2) x 1 set (ACMBD0081) = US$40.95
Change Color (1st color) Silver (light grey)
1 x BMW M Power Windshield Decal (Style#5) (ACMWDA0221) = US$23.95
With Extra Outline (around logo) -None-
Change Size 26"
With Background 53"(L)x8"(H) -None-
Change Color (2nd color) -Standard-
Change Color (1st color) Silver (light grey)
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: US$64.90
(Air Mail): US$20.61
Total: US$85.51

I wonder if the turner enclosed intake would work with carbon brace upgrade?

That’s my install video in the first post and I always thought it needed a decal. I couldn’t decide what though, thanks for sharing your idea looks good.

I have both and I think it should. The turner air box cover is lower than stock and is more flush to the right than stock. You can also run the intake without the cover which is what I end up doing anyway most of the time. It's really doesn't have much impact on how dirty the filter is and the turner air box isn't 100% sealed so the cover is more cosmetic than anything.

I have another video of that install where you can see it installed.
