Ferodo DS2500

has anyone experience with those pads and stock brakes? they seem to be fair priced!

looking for a pad for street and short "after work trackdays" which include maximum 3 x 20min turns

looking forward for your feedback!

regards Philipp

I had these pads on my 06 GTO's BBK setup. They were dusty, but not noisy. They worked great on the street and didn't fade after repeated slow downs from 120.

I'm happy to put up with lots of dust if the brakes aren't noisy.

They are pretty much the best street (light duty/beginner track ) pad.

This is what I use on the street. Good pads. No noise, other than a "clank" on the rear when switching directions (normal behavior from slight shift in pad position). Do a search here and you'll find lots of feedback. Seems to be a popular application.

I have them for almost two years, and I'm loving them...

Less dusty compared to shitty oem pads, and stopping power is way better.

They are not good on track if you are doing any heavy braking. They should be good for autocross. Dust level is similar to OEM.

Do you think driving style plays in? I ran Mid Ohio last year on stock pads and rotors without issue. back straight is 140mph then down to 45ish into right hander. Fair amount of braking in 6 sessions over 2 days. This is on an M2C.

Absolutely. I cracked a DS2500 (in my AP Racing fronts) on Watkins Glen bc I thought it would be enough while snow was on the track. Once the snow was cleared enough and a semi-dry line formed before the bus stop (145mph to 80ish), it was too much for the DS2500.

Sounds like you’re gentle on the brakes, which is a good thing as long as you carry that speed and are incredibly quick in the corners.

IMO, they’re more dusty than OEM, but are the best performing street pad you’ll find.

Definitely, but there are also variables such as track configuration. If there are very long straights that allow the brakes to cool you might be able to get away with them, not sure.

I think the M2C brakes have a bit more flexibility in braking than OG with stock pads or these.

Dude, I have AP big brake kit at all corners and 2500 don't cut it

1000 lbs makes a gigantic difference on everything, tires, brakes, suspension etc.

Simply put, if OEM pads are holding up on track, you’re not braking as hard as you could—even on the M2C.

Try to find some other M2/M2C guys with Mid-O data so you can compare. If their laps are faster, you’ll likely see a lot of time being made up under braking.

DS 2500 Track Experience

Yep, the DS 2500 melted onto my rotors after a few hard track runs; I had to get the DS 1.11 to 'clean' off the material (drove down hill when cold a few times, did the trick)...now using the DS 2500 as my street pads and DS 1.11 as my track pads for the front....

One variable could be the tire compound. I have run PSS and PS4S on my M2C at VIR with repeated 140-40 zones (with instructor ballast in the passenger seat), and didn't notice any unusual braking phenomena with the OEM pads. Perhaps someone running R compounds would have a different experience.

I was running PS4S in the snow with my AP fronts in my example.

It’s all about how much you use the brakes, but that seems pretty self explanatory.

Hi Philipp,
these pads are quite popular on lighter vehicles, used regularly here in Australia. For heavy braking and a balance for street, I'd lean towards Endless ME-20 / 22 pads. Otherwise MX-72 if more novice style track work.

I run the 2500's in the rear for my track pads (DS1.11 in the front) and it works great. As others have said, I wouldn't run them in the front for track days.

That being said, you can order them from FCP Euro and take advantage of their lifetime replacement warranty.

I saw that and wished FCP had the AP pad shape!

I’ve been getting good service and pricing from www.bestbrakes.com

I found that the bite initially is a bit better with these compared to the PAGID pads. However, the pagids definitely stay consistent for a much longer period.
