FYI Road Map ANZ EVO 2019-1 is available!
My USB map update is about to expire by end of this year.
Ran it once today and happened to hit something new, KoOl ---> Road_Map_AUSTRALIA_NEW_ZEALAND_EVO_2019-1.zip Tried to figure out a direct downlad URL but my skill on Windows is not in line with Linux -_-z gave up | also the map has unlock data that is VIN specific so I think if it's properly done it's not worth the time and effort to hack it. Just use the phone (if map data is really dated). Not sure if USB Map download is associated with each car VIN (I reckon it requires an access token when sending the HTTP request to BMW's server anyway..., so not easy). About to do the airbag recall this month and ask them to do a full I-Step upgrade to fix: 1. PDC warning sound if not rolling forward 2. fake bluetooth connectivity issue... lol 3. any other ideas to add if they give me a hard time? Hopefully #1 is enough when they test it. BTW: BMW Sydney receptionist (obviously she knew nothing), simply told me the mechanics need to run a diagnostic (150 or 200? WTF) before upgrading I-STEP, hmm... I'll go back to the dealer where the car was delivered (Canterbury BMW) to try my luck.

More to add, planning to do the following:
1. get CarPlay enabled (3rd party) - now in ConnectedDrive portal, I saw CarPlay as one-off payment ($639!) greyed out - not available!? I was told the EVO (Head Unit) hardware is capable 2. HU-ServiceManager to manually update service records / history locally (as I am not servicing the car at any dealer, and will not be in future...) I understand this is local and will be overwritten everytime dealer write to the HU (I can overwrite it again...). 3. Plug a Raspberry Pi with small LCD screen to OBDII to pull and display real time metrics, on my to-do list. ...

Hi fastcars,
Quote:
There's also a contact number on the support page if you'd like to call them: 133 269 (Mon - Fri 9.00 am - 6.00 pm) It fails for both my BMW's (I also have an X3), and updating the Download Manager didn't seem to make a difference. I'll report back here if the problem persists. Cheers, |

So, I just kept trying - all of sudden my X3 download worked on Tuesday night.
And then after about 20-30 attempts at downloading the M2 image, it worked as well. Completely random, just all of a sudden decided to work. I found that when I did the download and the verification failed, there was no point re-running the verification as it would always fail on the 2nd/3rd/4th etc. attempt. The only way to move forward was to scrap it and start the download again But, persistence paid off - eventually it worked and the M2 was updated today! Cheers, |
