Every now and then I run across really cool pics or animations that I want to share, but aren't suitable for the LOL pic thread. Let's get a WOW! pic thread going.

Here's a cool animation. We think of the sun as stationary, but it's really hurtling around the galactic plane very quickly. What's interesting is the orbital plane of the planets is 119* off of the galactic plane..

That Is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Not so much the shower but the amazing view of the sky like that at night.

That's an awesome photo of a Humpback Whale. Although they are filter feeders & it's simply making a surface lunge through krill or a massive school of small fish, which is also likely what the gulls are feeding on.
