Yes the issue is that the coating was let dry too long. Re-applying without removing what's already there first won't help. Not sure if that's what you were implying. Also the car is wrapped in Xpel and I'm unsure how it holds up to orbitals and polish.

Reapplying may help to reactivate and fix depending on how long its been on the car, if you have some left over it's worth a try. When I did mine I had some hazing on some parts and reapplying fixed it. The Essence plus also helps fix ceramic coatings and is not a abrasive, I understand your car is wrapped thats why I suggested you do it by hand or set your polisher at a low speed.

What brand of coating? I assume you used a consumer version that's probably only good for 1-3 years. Even at that the streaks will remain until it's polished off or if when you replace the film.

You can polish XPEL no problem.

Done it a few times on my previous car.

CarPro CQuartz Ti02. You don't think the streaks will go away over time due to hand washing?

Waited to long to remove it, if you didn't then the paint was not perfectly clean which prevented the carrier solvents gassing off during the initial curing phase.

The cure? You need to polish it off. If you are lucky, a finishing polish with a DA will all you need to get the paint looking perfect.

He didn't remove it, that is the problem. He did state that early on.

If the whole car is wrapped and you have coated it now, incorrectly unfortunately, I would not polish the Xpel. At this point, I would remove the Xpel if this bothers you.

I don't think you can wait this one out and or expect it to minimize over time.

Nope. The streaks will be there until you polish them off.

What kind of polish to remove? I just used some gyeon cancoat on an Acura and had some streaking. I've had good luck in the past with the product so apparently just screwed it up this time. Finishing polish I assume. Nothing deep cutting. Correct?

When I did my car there was a small section that I apparently forgot to level down which created the same streaking. Solution was pretty simple. Get some fine grade polishing compound and your DA and polish it down. Once done re-apply the cleaner to remove the polishing residue and repeat the coating.

You can totally polish over xpel no problem. Just be light and go at a slower speed. It'll come right off.

I suggest using a more "flexible" coating such as a PHPs based coating like Gyeon MOHs, or vinyl specific coating like ceramic pro PPF/Vinyl for better durability and ease of application on PPF.
