New M2 Competition picture: instrument panel logo + red start/stop button

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
It's actually in the log from the current M2. Means they have planned along when they first come up with this 90% perfect product.

Heard other people say "when they first made it, they didn't expect such success. Now they realize the minor flaw of the product, and making a more refined M2." But after all, business is business.

Can't wait for my MY19 M2 lol。

What is the production year of the M2 in the picture? The gauges look like they are from the MY18 M2.

Great, more please... Red start button is visible and the M2 LCI dashboard cluster.

The M2 Competition seems to be the M2 how it should have been from the start.

If the badge had the same proportions as this it would not fit. The text "tition" of competition would spill over and onto the taillight.

I expect this to be in every review of the MY19 M2 review. The only "but" is going to be the price if it's quite a bit higher.

Personally I do not expect the price to be a lot higher if you keep the same spec as you had before in a M2 (LCI). However, if you do opt for more options I think the price can increase with up to 10K-15K EUR.

Looks like there is a rectangular screen that runs below the spedo and tach? Are we expecting the same speedo as the LCI? Or potentially digital?

So... now we know the name for sure and also that it will be only DCT(P = Park) - just like we had speculated from internal BMW docs/VIN data.

No,the VIN info has shown that DCT and 6MT M2 Competition test mules have been built.

This pic is from a MY18 M2 LCI that has been coded to show the M2 Competition logo. This is not an actual M2 Competition.

This is what the LCI has, and what the pre-LCI dash has as well. There's a rectangular screen that starts in the middle and extends below the right-hand gauge. The "efficientdynamics" garbage gauge is all digital, which is why it's infuriating that there isn't an option to display boost or oil temp in that section.

In case you're not aware, the LCI dash is not 100% digital. Only that little screen portion is.

VIN data of 118 pre-production M2 Competition cars show a 1/3 - 2/3 split (see here):
  • 40 6MT (stock transmission) = 33.90%
  • 78 M-DCT (optional transmission) = 66.10%
So both transmissions available (instead of "M-DCT only").
