I thought it would be interesting to document the gains after each bolt-on was installed. These plots were done on different days. However, the time frame between the first plot and last plot is almost exactly a year. 4th gear pull

RunFile 2: Akrapovic Exhaust
RF7: RF2 + GruppeM Intake
RF17: RF7 + Active Autowerke FMIC + Evolution Racewerks Charge pipe *This run was done on a really hot day
RF19: RF17 + Octane Booster (Torco) **This run was done on the same day as the previous plot
RF22: RF17 + ER catless DP
RF29: RF22 + Bootmod3 Stage 2 **

my guess is the N55 is limited to under 400whp on 91 octane. from the datalogs, it looks like the HPFP crashes and the pressure drops significantly in the upper RPM range (Target ~2800psi, actual: ~1900psi). that's the only parameter i can clearly see, but if anyone wants to take a look, let me know how i can send you the logs. Also, is there a way to clean up the existing logs? They look pretty jumbled up w/ all the plots on one graph.

Super illuminating. Thanks for this. Really good numbers on the BM3 OTS Stage 2 despite being limited to CA 91.

So youve deduced the boost is running that far below target due to fueling?

I remember on the vws you needed to upgraded HPFP because it hit a wall. Literally felt like a wall.

Is there a a higher performance hpfp for the m2 yet?

boost is actually hitting its targets. boost pressure at the throttle is at the target even though fuel pressure drops.

there is a pnp hpfp being developed and some other company is currently selling a kit to retrofit the dual pumps from the s55. both will require custom tune.

Nice results! Get yourself a custom tune with PTF! I'd be interested to check your logs. You can get the share link from the button to the right of each individual log (PM or post it).

Also, each individual parameter underneath the log charts, you can deselect to clean up the graph. You can also trim the chart so it only shows the pull, removing the idling or whatever you were doing before the pull.

Can't say that for sure, as the plots are done on different days (weather, fuel, etc.)

But it's a decent reference.

Very surprised the catless DP and BM2 Stage 2 didnt net more incremental hp as I would expect these to make the biggest difference out of anything...

Also isnt 355/384 really high for stock M2 + catback only?

Catless DP added 2hp over a different fuel. it's actually about 10whp more using the same 91 octane....but my guess is that the hpfp also was crashing for the dp runs before we flashed the stage 2 tune.

We aren't running high enough boost to where spark plugs (or tighter gap) are needed. I think the NGK plugs in general are better than the stock Bosch ones? But running a tighter gap (I'm at .018") isn't necessary with our boost levels or fuel (it'd be needed for E85 I believe). But I suppose it doesn't hurt? PTF recommends it, and specifically in my case I was experiencing idling issues so I tried out different plugs, but it turns out that the idling was related to my previous non-BM3 tune. It's up to you on the plugs. Maybe ask PTF for more information on that.

I'm not sure what kind of gains the inlet pipe gives, but if you look on other forums you'll see more data. I think it's more beneficial with a larger turbo, but I think there is improvement with the stock turbo too. Also, more ease on the waste gate potentially? Again not sure, but I'd say a turbo inlet is a good mod to do seeing the data from others.

Great post UltraMagneticAL regardless of the numbers things always improve.

1) Is this the latest OTS Map ? Any revisions?
2) Are you DCT or 6MT ? You should of done 5th gear either way

on 93 oct in my X4 M40i (n55)
- first run JB4 Map2 355/403 - second run JB4 Map0 349/350 - flashed 16psi older map 371/427 4th gear (twice)
- 5th gear 379 awhp 379 awtq *90F Weather Dynojet in Late September*
Going to Dyno the latest OTS Map version 3.0 that just released with the latest/greatest/tables definition from Late November to Now.

4) Can share the log with me or SeanWRT we're very familiar with them

34whp 52wtq looks like peak gains (stock to tune)
For 91 octane this is very good i rather have this lower number with such great powerband than peaking higher number for less rpm

tehboost did 403whp 466wtq on 5th gear 91oct in his 6MT consistently

1) Most likely the latest OTS map? I purchased and installed at EAS on 1/5/18. Looks like its v3 currently installed.
2) 6MT. i'll ask Steve if he can do a 5th gear pull next time.
4) after talking w/ tehboost and getting to know how to clean up the logs, it looks like its probably two issues: fuel and IAT. I've got the AA FMIC, but they only had one fan pointed at the front of the car, and two smaller blowers pointed at the oil coolers, and it was a warm-ish day. the HPFP dipped as low as ~1700psi w/ a target of 2800psi. i see a number of knock events pulling the timing, so that's probably why it's not hitting the peaks. tehboost has a custom map - so i may end up going that route when i can get some good 3rd gear pulls after the rains stop here.

here are the datalogs we got from a few runs on the dyno:
http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5a4ffd8fd10b432e86f675d6
http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5a4fff09d10b432e86f675da
http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5a5002f2d10b432e86f675df
http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5a50036cd10b432e86f675e0

i also have easy (but expensive) access to 100 octane, or i can probably add a splash of e85 and see if that helps calm down the knocking events.
