E92/E93 M body components

I've seen many posts from members in the USA complaining that they can't find part numbers for the M body components (bumpers, side sills) for their E92 coupes and E93 cabrios.

So I will try to post them here.

Note: I'm just an enthusiast; I don't know if your American BMW dealer is willing or able to get these parts for you. (I will say that six years ago I got an M aerodynamic pkg for my E46 330Ci with no problems -- and it did not have reflectors, either. But it may be that BMWNA has gotten wise to the enthusiast modder crowd since then! ) I don't even own an E92 or E93, although I am thinking that an E92 coupe would be a good replacement for my beloved '05 E46 M3 in a couple of years. 414 HP is OK, but I don't care much for the lump on the hood of the M3 and who really needs 414 HP???

My source is the excellent parts info at http://bmwfans.info where you can find Euro parts info. Since it is Euro, weights are in kilograms and prices are in Euros. YMMV...

Front Bumper

Front bumper for E92 & E93:

The M front bumper cover (part 1 in the diagram) in primer is 51 11 8 041 200

Weight 3.9 kilograms.

As you can see in the diagram, there are plenty of other parts involved. One of the problems in doing this is knowing what comes with the bumper. On my E46s, I looked at the diagram and ordered everything -- only to find out that, for instance, when you order an M bumper, the M fog lights are included. So we will need feedback from somebody who's been there on what all is included in any particular part number.

M front bumper cover (part 1) for cars with (front) PDC in primer= 51 11 8 044 662 and since we're talking USA here, that should be nobody, right?

As you can see there are quite a few smaller parts -- can we try to get a feel for whether any of these are included in that part 1? I've got a feeling that at least some if not all are included. Can anyone confirm?

I don't have a problem listing part numbers for all of 'em, but not if they are included.

Note: This part number does not include the DOT-mandated reflectors on the front fenders. Without these reflectors, you will crash within minutes of starting to drive your car. Your dealer may not be willing to sell this part to you. I am not responsible. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. Offer good only where legal.

Thanks, Sam -- just as I expected.

(Sort of OT) When I ordered the whole package for my E46 Touring (I did this twice on my E46s) it came with both US-size and Euro-size license plate frames.

Door sills

M Side sills are pretty straightforward:
Left 51 77 8 045 421
Right 51 77 8 045 422
weight 2.33 kilos each. Price as listed at bmwfans.info is 73.80 euros each, but not sure if that is with tax or without.

All the other parts in the diagram are connectors, and I think they would come with it. Again, if somebody tells me different, I can list the numbers for 'em.

And before somebody says something, yeah -- the sills pictured in the diagram are the regular sills, not the M items.

Rear Bumper

The rear bumper is a little more complicated due to PDC and the varying exhaust configurations.

But for the main piece, there are only two variations:
M rear bumper without PDC = 51 12 8 041 203
M rear bumper with PDC = 51 12 8 044 934

Weight 4.2 kilograms. The problem with this one is that it is BIG! On an E46 is is so big that UPS won't take it and the bumper must be shipped truck freight.

Once again, I think a number of hardware pieces and the tow eye flap cover will be included with the basic part number.

Part 2 in the diagram is the one that allows for variations in exhaust for 328 versus 335. Or 4 cylinder or Diesel models in the RoW. The two versions for USA models should be:
Bottom trim panel for 328 models = 51 12 8 041 191
Bottom trim panel for 335 models = 51 12 8 043 897

Now -- can some nice insider download the EBA's pdf instructions for installing the M aero package off centernet and post it? Please? (I see where we already have the E90/E91 instructions.)

Thanks for posting these up. However, all the major M-Tech components for the E92 coupe are still not showing up the US electronics parts catalog so they cannot be ordered.

I think I saw a comment from someone that Tischer was selling the kit. If so, I suspect they can be ordered, but that only a savvy parts dept guy will know how.

LOL~ Please take the following paragraph lightly and with some humor.

Couple weeks ago, I inquired about the M-Tech rear bumper cover with PDC and Evan @ Tischer's response was that it does not exist in the US Parts Catalog and cannot be ordered. They can get you the small things like tow hook covers, diffuser, etc though, but not the actual cover. I suspect that if Evan can get the anthracite headliner for me, he should be savvy enough to know whether the M-Tech kit can be order

For those that want a full M-Tech kit, contact Lewis@MWDesign (currently on vacation) or if you want individual items, especially the rear bumper (since it is not available individually from MWDesign), contact Rover Active (Justin Leff) on eBay.

No problem.... I understand that "I heard it on the internet" does not mean it is fact.

Of course, in a couple of years, this stuff will be widely available when the E92 ZHP arrives...

And I just realized I never posted the p/n for the full package.

For cars without PDC 51 95 0 427 048
For cars with rear PDC 51 95 0 427 049

and that p/n is the same for all E92s and E93s. It's those lower trim pieces on the rear bumper that differentiate between 328 and 335.

And, for the front bumper, there are a number of supplementary smaller parts that must be ordered to do the full job:
Air duct, front right 51 74 8 045 348
Front left brake duct 51 74 8 045 363
Front right brake duct 51 74 8 045 364
Cover, bottom left 51 71 8 045 399
Cover, bottom right 51 71 8 045 400
Support, fog lamp right 51 11 8 043 230
(why right and not left? Dunno)

Guys....

You can by the whole kit (with hardware and instructions) for $1895.00 CAN (minus 10% for me so $1630.00) for any Canadian dealer. I asked them about this today and they are generally in stock. When they are not in stock there is about 10 day lead time and they do sell a lot of them.

Also, the piece price of these parts is lot. The rear bumper kit is about 1400.00 CAN.

PM if want the dealer info as they might consider shipping to the USA. If you can’t get I see if I can help you out by getting it shipped.

I don't want the front bumper so if you’re interested let me know as I’m going to sell it.

You can look it up on REALOEM.com, just pick a euro car and do the lookup

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...69&hg=51&fg=15

This is what your looking for 04 Cover, bumper, rear -M- 1 51128041192

This is a really old post on the availability - Tischer can get the rear and sides and the part you need, they just can't get the front end yet.
