AC Schnitzer Tune - Opinions?
Was browsing through acclaimed BMW tuners and came across an unmentioned tune offered by AC Schnitzer. Tune is a hardware remap.
Much like DINAN this company allows you to maintain BMW's original warranty. Link http://shop.ac-schnitzer.co.uk/perfo...rom-4697-p.asp Dyno Chart Dyno chart look's good enough but I'm somewhat confused about their figures. Technical Sheet Technical sheet claims stock m240i does 0-100 in 4.8 and their tune 'upgrades' it to 4.6. Most primary and secondary sources claim 0-100 between 4.4-4.6 stock. On the other hand, the 80-180 figure is difficult to compare to anything for lack of data for those ranges. (No mention whether the dyno's where run on MT or AT.) From all the tunes I've seen this is probably the most expensive one on the market. Just wanted to share this tune and ask if anyone has any experience with the company or can interpret the technical sheet as it doesn't seem to add up Cheers EDIT: I'm guessing their technical sheet was pulled off from their 340i dyno's like DINAN and other companies have done Last edited by Dav3; 12-27-2016 at 09:00 AM.. |

Looks like there's different/updated numbers here:
http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/ac...50&ID_NR=24318 0-100 in 4.3s (For x-drive, and probably AT) |

Over priced in my opinion, JB4 offers more feature, power for a cheaper price.
Note: They do not maintain BMW warranty, they offer their own if BMW denies your claim.

I'd be interetsed to know if anyone has gone with this option. I am serioulsy considering it.
It is a lot of money for a tuning box but..... The numbers look good and more importantly for me on a 2 month old car, can be supplied and fitted by my local BMW main dealer and has a warranty equal to that of the BMW one ( I hope ). I hope I'm right in thinking that the fact that it can be supplied and fitted by my BMW Main Dealer should stand in me in good stead should there be any issues in the future. With it being a tuning box, I guess in the future I could also remove it and sell it when I sell the car. |

At the end of the day it all comes down to common sense with tunes. Use the tune moderately and safely = low chance of doing any harm Max out settings on tune, run 24/7, drive it like you stole it = high chance of breaking something |

Here's a link to the developer of the tune... http://www.nolimit-power.com
Cost a little less but its the same module. I've got it on my 340i and must say its very good. I have a jb4 too. The power output is the same as jb4 map2, but it shifts a lot smoother. The jb4 offers more features and isn't as expansive, no limit (ac schnitzer) shifts smoother.
