well go over to n54tech and find the e series jb4 sticky and it has everything you'd need to know. but press both volume down and the down arrow on the right side of steering wheel as well. if the gauges change, you got a jb4. and if it does change just press volume down again to exit. don't mess around until you read what to do once in the menus. if nothing happens then you probably don't have one. I think there's an option in the computer program to disable steering wheel controls. never done it myself, and see no need to but that just means I cant 100% guarantee you don't have one if nothing happens.
the surest way is to go download the install directions, pull the cowl/dme cover and see if you have one. if not its safe to leave the cowl off until your jb4 arrives, just make sure you don't run around without the dme box cover installed.

Pop the hood and see if you see it in the ECU box - check burger tuning site to know what to look for.
Also check this video on how to engage controls and see if it works on your car.

+1 to the above. I thought the same thing too and I asked the same question . I thought my car jb4 when I bought it because I had a USB coming out of my glove box. Finally got around to open the hood and removing the cowl and discovered in the ECU compartment it was just a dead end wire. So I buttoned it up and left the wire .
I went with MHD flash tune anyhow . Cars in beast mode now , and so much of daily driver capable with consistent power over stock setting. (Bragging) |
