M2 Options

Just got my options list from my SA

I only see a handful of options

Color $550 - Long Beach Blue, Black or Grey (white is free)

Executive package: $1,250
heated steering wheel, rear view camera, park distance control rear, auto high beams, active driving assist, speed control

DCT: $2,900 (I am getting the manual)

Destination: $995

That's it? everything else is standard. I thought there going to be more options than that?

That's it! Everything I wanted is standard minus the metallic paint of course, so I was beyond excited...

Not that $57 is nothing but that's a tremendous value compared to a loaded 235 especially if you add the carbon interior to it.

What else do you want? Lane changing monitoring BS, HUD? If so there is an M3 or M5 if the M2 does not have enough options for you.

I think he meant he thought things like tech package, HK etc. were going to be options, not have almost everything included in the base package. Don't believe he was looking for more gear.

This is the launch car; From what I was told was that every dealer is getting an allocation for an initial M2 that cannot be modified (add or delete options)

My dealer was able to modify (delete exec. pkg.) the order so not sure how accurate that is?

My CA told me that 50% of cars are non-configurable allocations and 50% are. My dealer was able to swap a non-configurable AW/DCT allocation for a configurable allocation with a dealer in close proximity. It actually worked out well because the other dealer wanted that exact configuration anyway.

I see the limited options as good. Adds content in the base package, helps preserve residuals.

Did your dealer get allocation already? The 4 that I am on the list of haven't. Curious to see what allocation they get. I think it is pretty common for the initial allocations to be non-configurable so not surprised at that but curious about the allocation.

Yes, order was accepted in the system and I have a production number (Currently tracking through MyBMW). The car is a "demo" car or "HEA" that is customer sold (So I will get the car right away and nobody will be touching but me- and the tech for PDI).

Edit: There are different types of allocations (Half configurable and the other half non-configurable). I presume most, if not all, of the non-configurable were already produced or in production currently (I don't know this last part for sure, but why would they not be configurable if they haven't already been produced).

No, my car is not in currently in production. According to my CA, it is scheduled for February production.

When tracking on MyBMW, it just says "We are currently processing your order and will inform you once your BMW enters production."

As far as the "non-configurable" allocations, I'm not sure if they are in production or already produced. I was just guessing that they were produced since you cannot configure them, so sorry if there was confusion.

Haha, yea, I was wondering where your post was. It looked like I double posted. Anyway, no problem. I'm just glad my dealer was able to switch the allocation with another dealer. My CA is a good dude and he is a fellow ///M enthusiast (Has F80 M3) and I was pretty lucky in the fact that he had connections at another regional dealer who wanted their exact configuration (AW/DCT). For the record, I ordered LBB/MT and beyond excited!!

I have to say, I'm surprised at how well BMW is doing with the M2. They are seemingly getting it right. The price, limited options (because all the good stuff is standard)...well, it really does remind my of my E39 M5 in that sense.

I think this car really shines in its simplicity. I like that no BS attitude in cars.
