Short Shift knob for E92 - Seatbelt Issue

I'm getting my 6-speed 07 335i this week (woohoo) and I have couple of questions:

1-I hate the stock shift knob because of the aluminum feeling, and the tall length. Are there easy replacements that are both, Short in length, and with full leather? I really like the M-Style short shift knob but not sure if this will really make the knob shorted (no intention to change to a short shift kit at this point).
do I need to "cut" the shifter to lower some inches?

2- is there any DIY for fixing the seatbelt-sliding handle to catch the seatbelt? that is when the driver side seatbelt assistant moves forward to catch the seatbelt, and it fails to catch it. I had the same issue in my old 328xi.

thanks!

For the seatbelt you can use a hair straightening iron on the area of the seatbelt that the arm is supposed to grab. This should flatten it out and stiffen it up a bit so it doesn't flex out of the little grabber arm

For Seatbelt: Tried this hair iron thingy before and did not help, Since it seems to be a common issue , I thought there may be a better "replacement part" that can replace the stock handle/motor. will try again, but let me know if there are other solutions for that

I'm in the same boat with the shift knob. I found this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307607 so i'm buying this: http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/25110406895/ES46480/ . No need to cut, its just simply a shorter knob.

I think based on what I read so far, the ZHP is the best choice.

And found this vid, will try to see if changing the part will fix it:

Momo makes nice gear shift knobs for BMWs. They are affixed to the shaft with set-crews and will not come off. I've had a Momo Atomic leather shift knob on my various BMWs for years. It's the same one, I've moved it from car to car. It's got about 400,000 miles on it and still in good shape.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I have the ZHP and love it. It's so much nicer to drive with than the tall, lightweight stock aluminum one.
