Not all E series stopped production in 2011, so you really just need to pay attention the chassis. |

I've purchased several cables for NCSExpert and they've all worked. I don't look at the board color or anything. Each cable came with a rediculous Zip file program. I feel like this is where people get screwed. If everything isn't unpacked and installed perfect....your fucked!

There are a couple threads that can help people if they're having troubles in getting started. I found these two are very useful and have tons of info.

This is the cable I bought and it came with all the goodies I needed to code and update modules. It was $35 and it works great! |

just to clarify :
Most of cable are made with ftdichip but there is also chinese clone which works without problem. Only one problem in past was when ftdi detected this chip and some driver have locked this but this one driver is not online anymore, also, new driver unlock if this is locked. Chip bi itself is expensive, 20 US$ cable can't be with original chip but clone works good as well. Anywya, beside this all works OK I've got tired of this, going with ICOM soon. |
