Right specs, but it's a crap shoot if it is built to work. Meaning there are a lot of fakes.

Do you have any recommended? The review seems very good though.

I just placed an order on that cable. If it doesn't work, then I will send it back.

Just make sure the PC board is green. If it's any other color, good luck.

Do you know which cable I should get for 2009 and up models?
I can only find cables for up to 2008 vehicles.

The KDCAN will work for vehicles up to 2011 (E series). Only exception would E46, which requires an adapter or pin 7/8 to be bridged. From 2012 (F series), that requires an ENET cable.

Not all E series stopped production in 2011, so you really just need to pay attention the chassis.

I've purchased several cables for NCSExpert and they've all worked. I don't look at the board color or anything. Each cable came with a rediculous Zip file program. I feel like this is where people get screwed. If everything isn't unpacked and installed perfect....your fucked!

There are a couple threads that can help people if they're having troubles in getting started. I found these two are very useful and have tons of info.

This is the cable I bought and it came with all the goodies I needed to code and update modules. It was $35 and it works great!

What year is your e90?

I have an 06 and I wasn't sure which years needed the adapter to switch the two pins around.

just to clarify :

Most of cable are made with ftdichip but there is also chinese clone which works without problem. Only one problem in past was when ftdi detected this chip and some driver have locked this but this one driver is not online anymore, also, new driver unlock if this is locked.

Chip bi itself is expensive, 20 US$ cable can't be with original chip but clone works good as well.

Anywya, beside this all works OK I've got tired of this, going with ICOM soon.
