Anyone with an e92 n55 xdrive PPK in North NJ?

Hi All,

I just got the PPK (tune only) installed on my '12 e92 335i xDrive M-Sport installed last Thursday by Paul Miller BMW, and - other than the gurgle and pops from the exhaust - I'm honestly not feeling a difference in power. I was wondering if there is anyone in Morris/Bergen county with the PPK on their n55 e92 xdrive who is willing to meet up with me and drive my car and allow me to drive theirs to see if they can feel the difference and vice versa.

I know this is a stupid request but I just dropped $750 for this thing and I'm pretty pissed that after having driven it for ~300 miles now, I don't feel the extra power/torque and I'm pretty close to telling BMW to refund my money so I can use it for a REAL tune like a cobb or JB. The reason I got the PPK in the first place is because I'm CPO and my factory maint. warranty is still good until next December so I didn't want to void it but now I'm just like screw it because I really want more power dammit!

Another thing was that they never gave me any supporting documentation which was signed off by the tech & SA certifying that the tune was applied. A lot of people in the N55 tuning forum indicated they received an envelope containing the code and a certificate that shows the tune was installed and signed by the tech and SA. I just got a couple of stickers in the engine bay; one for replacing the spark plugs at 45k miles and the other being the "Performance Power Kit" badge.

Dam that sucks man, I would just go ask for a refund. There probably going to deny it so get ready to call BMW NA. I would also go to a diff dealer after all the hassle. I went with the jb4 on mine. While I had coo. Just take it out and clear codes . You should be fine.

All you have to do is tell them to show you where it was upgraded. Take a look at the part to verify.

Best would be to get a boost gauge. pPK ups the boost a couple psi.
From what I hear it needs to have the ecu adapt, but regardless it's def a waste of money.
Had a CPO fbo and never had an issue with having jb4 or Cobb.
Even got replacement turbos while tuned

Actually, my SA called me the day after install to ask how/whether I liked the tune and I complained I didn't feel it so my SA actually told me he could speak to his service manager to get me a refund so that shouldn't be a problem at all. I actually told him I'd really prefer to keep it on so he had me make an appointment to bring it back in for them to verify it was applied successfully (which the tech who did it verified when I spoke with him). I probably will just have them take it off and just stick to stock cause as badly as I want more power, I also don't want to void my warranty if something goes wrong which it probably will with my luck lol.

Any suggestions on what kind of gauge I should buy and where I can get a good one?

Thanks in advance

Yea I scheduled an appointment to go back to have them do exactly that. I actually asked for a 335 e92 loaner which would give me a feel for stock again and maybe I'm just not feeling the tune even though it's there but they only have F32's now and of course they're all 428s UGH!

I'd like to but I've read on some threads that cobb can be traced if dealerships were to dig for whatever reason and also cobb charges $895 and I got the PPK for $750 with tax and labor included. If anything I'd probably get a JB4.

I stand corrected regarding the cobb AP price - extreme powerhouse sells the cobb AP for $760 (though it is under their link for black friday deals so not sure how long this price will remain).

I'm in Morris County. I don't have the PPK tune, I went with the N55 JB4 stage 2 chip. All I can say is WOW! What a difference in the power and response, it's night & Day from stock. Maybe you should look into the JB4? I wouldn't mind meeting up and showing you the power the JB4 has if your on the fence about it.

Question.... You got your turbos replaced from recall? I think its too late for me....86xxx miles now. I think I need a oil catch can, I'm starting to burn oil, either that or I might have a blown gasket seal. ggggrr
