inpa help

trying to read codes and such with inpa, but cannot connect?
both circles black, but in pics you can see no path for ecu or inpa

This is very common.

Make sure you have latest BMW Standard Tools 2.12 installed. Use INPA from a good source. BMW CODING PACK MAY 2013 is a good one.

You need a compatible cable. If your vehicle was manufactured after 03/2007 you need a K+DCAN cable of good quality. Change latency in your comport settings to 1.

I have the latest K+Dcan cable from one stop and latency changed to 1. I beleive I do have BMW coding pack from 2013. And installed BMW standard tools 2.12.

What is the exact error you get? Have a look at the EDIABAS log.

where do I find the ediabas log? also on my old computer I have this screen.
the second pic is what is on my new computer running windows 8. as you can see I am missing a lot of functions.
