[Recommendations] Valved Catbacks with a Good Sound

Hey mates, I'm looking for an exhaust for M2C. It's been chugging along nicely but time for an upgrade. Really beginning to hate that buzzing.

Can't quite put a finger on it yet. Drop'em below please.

Hey there,

Any idea why you've been getting that buzzing? Has it always been there? At any specific rpm?

Yea, it's awful on sports mode but it's that vibration that's killing me... It sets off in the lower rpm but as soon as it picks up speed, the buzz kicks in.

i have the MPE and sounds great and looks cool with the mperformance written on the muffler and much lighter as made of titanium. Alsoas stated above i like the fact it is bmw designed part etc. and great for resale etc. it is a bit $ pricey @ approx. $ 4400 * so similar to Akra which is also titanium and why the extra cost.

I had buzzing from my muffler at startup and while driving at certain rpms. The dealership diagnosed it as a failed exhaust flap actuator (their words, on the SOW). They replaced the muffler, buzzing gone. Maybe check with your dealership if it's something like my situation?

Not that I'm biased or anything...but my vote goes to Dinan + non res AA EL

My goal was to achieve a deeper growl, and me thinks job is done!

Is the Active Autowwerk Signature exhaust similar in sound and volume to their single mid pipe and axle back combo?

The signature Is more aggressive; the single midpipe adds a deeper tone in the mid-range but is not as loud on high RPM.

Both sound good; it's just a matter of preference.

I would scratch Remus off that list.

Mine was welded crooked. Tried repeatedly to reach Remus for warranty claim and have been completely ignored.

Shit product from a shit company.

im sorry to hear that, sounds like you got a defective item.

Their warranty process has taken a hit for sure after they suddenly changed distributors so I completely understand the frustration.

OP - here is the direct OEM to full exhaust change summary video. I will have the play by play, piece by piece LONG video up later this week.

This is straight OEM (non M performance back box) to all Active Autowerke suite: Downpipes, EL midpipe with resonated ABs and their new valved axle back exhaust.

In short, I LOVE IT!

Not in Uk unfortunately

My personal favourite is the Milltek EL race version
Sounds incredible in person, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, you can keep warranty and no issues with MOT
