My Unlocked and Tuned 2021 M2C!

Thanks to Enabled, I'm reasonably confident I have the first unlocked and tuned M2C with a post 6/2020 DME in the US! You can see below how we did it!

You are definitely pioneering here!


This is intentionally a conservative tune for premium fuel (91/93). There is quite a bit of potential left, but I wouldn't push it unless required.

2021 M2C with 06/2020+ dated Bosch DMEs have been notoriously double locked up against tuning (bench lock and OBD lock); actually, most M2C require bench unlock or other solutions to be able to get a tune on it.
A lot of people advertise M2C S55 tunes; the tune content isn't the hardest part.

Not missing anything here, this is one solution, which was always viable.

CMD Flashtec tool can now also access and unlock the DME via bench unlock using their tool. Then you can throw on BM3, MHD or whatever your tuner of choice is once that's unlocked. I'll be heading down this path shortly (break-in period almost completed) and will report back once successful.

Some are reporting the CMD Flashtec unlock is still beta where others are reporting it's available.

Went the DME replacement route. Hats off to Enabled

One of the best guys on the forum, had a few error codes after the swap and he has been amazing to make sure that everything is wiped clean. Can't recommend him enough.

Now running a BM3 CS+ map until OPF delete arrives.

Sadly nothing, I have my tuner on the case weekly checking via all his tuner boxes and unlock providers and there still is not a solution unfortunately that we have been able to find or use thus far. The DME swap is a solid options, especially when you can have your stock DME safely at home in the safe if you ever need to do a warranty.

What's the total cost all in to go this route? I'm thinking JB4 in the meantime but would love to go BM3 or similar.
