18"/19" Double Staggered Setup, I did it!

About a year ago the "Max Rubber on the M2" thread and my own "Anybody Running a Double Stagger?" thread got me thinking of trying an 18x10" and 19x11" wheel combo and fitting a 305 width tire in the rear. This holiday season I finally got around to trying it and testing the fitment. Below you'll see everything that went into testing the fitment!

Great vid, appreciate the info

With our OE size spec (dia) we have a slight f/r diameter stagger.
25.75"fr & 26.3"rr

With your tire selection on the 18/19 wheels have you increased the dia stagger further?

Yes, the overall diameter is different than stock. With this setup I have 25.3"F/26.2"R, however I've run other combos too. My other track wheel set is 265/35r18F, 285/35r18R (25.3"F/25.9"R), and before that was 265/35r18F, 295/30r18R (25.3"F/25"R).

Maybe I'll try a 275 in front next time, but with the splitter, I don't really need more front grip and could use more rear than the 285 I have (on track that is).

Awesome video man!

I wish Apex had these wheels in a forged version too, that would be really nice.

I would have thought the rear was less than that, as the rear sidewall looks thinner than the front by more than .1" to my eye, but I guess it's just the fitment difference, and possibly the way the fender lip shadow hits the tires.

In any case, well done, as always!

FaRKle! well done - car looks great & the pics are on point!

I have that same diameter stagger with my setup (also 10/11 but 18's all around). Running a 265/35/18 front A052 for the street - but will also be the tire I'm on at super lap battle next month. Would much rather a 275/35/18 for that much more heat management capability and my preference for no more than 20mm stagger if possible - but it is what it is right now with availability. I have run Hoosier A7 @ 275/35/18 on the front and they fit with no issue even being wide for a 275. If you find a tire you like & it has a 275/35/18 option would definitely consider it.

Thanks for the feedback! For a tire like the A052, getting more heat capacity is especially important. Hankook has a 275/35r18 RS4 that I'm thinking about trying next.

For my car's setup I feel rear grip limited only having the rear 20mm wider than the front. I'm sure that would change if I had more rear camber available, or even different F:R frequency ratio.

Nice.

I’m looking at 275 & 305/35/18 Toyo RR on 18x10 ET25 & 18x10.5 ET40 EC-7R’s for the Spring. Will be tight in the rear, but should fit relative to the 295 & 305/30/19 combo’s I’ve run in the rear in the past on 19x10.5 ET45.

Yeah I really love the SM10 but wished they were forged in 18" and 19" sizes! The bead knurling is nice too!

Yep, the knurling is a really nice feature. Its present on our 18" and 19" sm-10 wheels now along with both our classic forged and Sprint line forged wheels as well. The forged wheels have unpainted knurling to keep the edges sharper, but even the painted version really helps keep the wheelset balanced on track with sticky compounds and intense braking zones.
