Video Request: M2C AA EL Resonated + AA Valved Rear

Theres a lot of videos out there of the non-resonated el with their own valved rear axleback. Does anybody have sound clips of this setup with the resonators?

Active Autowerke installed it buddy. I'm 30 minutes from their HQ.

Cold start and Reving sounds great. Even WOT. But try listening to some daily driving videos like attached. Cheap shit sound.

oh damn, well the last thing I could think of is the muffler choice. Are you using the stock muffler?

So to confirm this is actives own rear box as well correct? Any drone / unwanted noises at all during daily driving? Would you go this path again? If possible can you also post some clips of some revs, sounds like what im chasing after so far. Cold start seems to be improved vs non-res with same axleback.

Yes sir that’s the AA axleback. At 1800-2000 it has the quick rumble that goes through the car, can’t tell if I still need to adjust. I will say that the connecting pipe or the axleback connection could be shortened I think. Once the exhaust is hot the midpipe must be growing and causing the box to touch the heat shield by the diffuser. Even with the adjustment woes, still super happy with the sound improvements.

On the highway I’m 80+ usually, rpms well out of the troublesome part, but if you don’t downshift for meaningful acceleration and instead lug the motor at 2k you get what the other video in the thread is showing. Not nearly as bad as he has oem box with catless downpipes, his back box was probably touching heat shield.

I will get some more clips of it, though I don’t have much stock ones to compare.

That sounds pretty solid overall, I have the AA valved right now with the single midpipe and I want to know if switching to a resonated EL is the right choice. Id super appreciate the clips when you get the chance!

Just a quick correction, the resonance happens at 1500

That sounds interesting, I believe I get some similar sort of issue with my setup as well but I could not say for certain until I had your setup to compare against.

I posted this in another thread, but I recently installed the Active Autowerke Equal Length Midpipe (Resonated) and Valved Rear Axle-Back Exhaust with stock downpipes on my M2C 6MT and it sounds amazing with zero issues (no rasp or rattles and any time). Videos do not sound the same as being in person.

I will have this combination up with full DIY install, and sound review as soon as I can. I meant to have it done by now, but Covid got me. It will probably be ready in the next two weeks.

Here is the short version, OEM to straight full AA suite. The step by step (took me a year) full video will be up later this week.

Hope this helps.
