Hey guys if you don't mind could one of you contact me about M2C July 2020 build ECU tune? It looks like I need to buy a replacement DME and swap/configure it? It looks like you guys have figured it out. Thanks! Car was built July 2020 (2021 model), it's not worth finding the build date on the DME unless planning on fixing it while you have it apart since it's quite involved.

Thank you!

This just in! My 2021 M2C has been at Carbahn for dyno development of their new piggyback tune. The verbal I got was somewhere around 520HP and 540Tq. I will post actual readings once I get them.

Any updates on this? Did you got final numbers? The controller is now on their web page. Will like to know some real dyno numbers before pulling the trigger... thx in advance

Just want to voice my displeasure at the tuner community for not being able to hack the damn DME in our beloved car.

I'm incredibly frustrated tbh. I had an OG M2 with bm3 on it. I traded it in/upgraded to an M2C for the tuning potential, only to then find out I couldn't bloody tune it. I refuse to resort to piggyback tunes. I want full control over the car that I paid for.

It's not just about the power either. On my previous M2 I customised the burbles/bangs to my liking via BM3 and it was perfect - sharper, reduced duration but loud and aggressive at the right rev. I get fed up with the M2C constantly sounding like a popcorn machine (or, I can code it out entirely).

One of my main driving points for a tune. That and throttle character. I'd love the throttle characteristics of Sport but the exhaust characteristics of Sport+ (with burbles off).

I just bought Bimmerlink for $36 and the Bluetooth adapter for $147. Turned off the burbles. Much happier now haha.

Based on only hearing my car from the driver's seat... I didn't realize there's any difference between 'sport' and 'sport+' settings (sound volume) other than sport+ adding burbles.

Maybe I've got this wrong? Otherwise, wondering why one would need to code out of the sport+ burbles, unless wanting to have control of auxiliary cooling fan without such exhaust burbles.

Thank you!

For me, the burbles are too predictable and get tiring real quick so I turn them off. Even with burbles off, Sport+ has a pretty nice *snap* on aggressive upshift. Sport+ has other exhaust characteristics that I feel are great, burbles is just not one of them. If anything, the burbles drown them out.

I messaged the PTF team for an update since it's been many moons since I last contacted them and they confirmed that although Femto have cracked the MG1 ECUs (S58/B58), they still have no information on anyone cracking those in our S55. Can't believe after 2 years there's still nothing. I'm now considering buying an older ECU and just cloning it.

The fact they have moved onto the S58 suggests you shouldn't hold your breath. I doubt we will see them dedicate more resources to a very narrow band of customers (2-3 years of the Supra and M2C) interested in tuning.

Does this turn them off for good, or you have to go to Bimmerlink each time you turn on the car?

It's turns them off permanently, you have to turn them back on. So annoying the exhaust valves don't follow a similar permanent pattern.

Indeed, which is why I'm thinking of either cloning the ECU or going down the piggyback route (reluctantly). Or… I just hold out and see how the G87 M2 does and consider moving to that.
