Adams Graphene Coating Thoughts

I coated my M2C with Adams Graphene several days ago and wanted to provide my general thoughts on the install, and initial performance. I ended up spending quite a few hours prepping the car for the coating: strip wash, chemical and mechanical decon, light polish, and an IPA wipedown. I was initially only planning on coating the paint, but decided to go ahead and coat the windows and my rims as well.

I was super impressed with how easy it was to install. I have quite a lot of experience with CQuartz UK ceramic and I found the Adams product to be at least as easy as CQ, if not a little easier. Buffing off was definitely easier vs CQ...I had read a few online posts about how the Adams product was a bit finicky to remove but it came off very nicely, even for a couple of panels where I left it on for a bit too long. Was also super impressed at the gloss levels as it cured overnight.

I just did my first wash last night, and I can say with certainty that I have never seen water beading/sheeting like this before. It was almost mind blowing. I used my blower and 95% of the water jumped off the car, and I was left with a super easy final drying stage with a quality MF towel. Yes, I know it is still early on in the coatings life, but it is better than anything I have used so far.

My plan will be to use the Adams ceramic boost once a month to keep the performance strong, as well as a more thorough decon maybe a couple of times a year depending on beading levels, etc...

I don't expect it to last 7 years like they claim, and I know the jury is still out on graphene vs traditional ceramics, but overall I was very impressed.

Any questions, feel free to ask

Appreciate your thoughts on this coating. Maybe you mentioned it in another thread, but how long did it take to apply?

When my 2018 Camaro was less than a week old, I brought it to a local detailer to ask about ceramic coating. His quote was around $1200. He said it would last 5 years.

Is what you did more or less the same thing in a DIY approach?

Hi, thanks. After the prep work, it took me about 4 hours to coat the car paint. That was me going slowly and taking a few small breaks since it was really hot in my garage. I posted something separate but the wheels took WAY longer than I expected, mostly due to the intricate nature of the rims.

I also applied the graphene coating (non-spray version) and so far out of all the ceramic coatings I’ve done, this one I like the best.

Graphene is not a ceramic. But then, nor are the the rest of them.

Discuss...

I've used the Adam's ceramic boost and it is okay. I prefer Gtechniq C2V3.
