No, because they are better sports cars. You pay for it, though.

No - and there aren't any posts on Porsche blog sites with threads like "the back seats in my 718 are missing and the engine appears to be missing two cylinders - what gives?"

Love my gt4, no doubt. But any daily commute or tasks I grab the m2 without a second thought. It’s still wicked fun, better visibility, reverse camera, can clear parking lot entrances without worry, light clutch, more storage etc etc.

And.....

The changes seem to make the base much more desirable. And this might be the last non-hybrid/electric gen.

We love our base Lava Orange 718 Boxster. It looks somewhat close to what a GTS looks like with the Carrera wheels and black exhaust tips. It goes effortlessly through curves and corners which definitely gives you more confidence. It's not as fast as my Stingray or tuned 135, but is still very peppy (about as fast as the old Cayman S). For being more of a base model, it still has a number of nice features like heated seats, Carplay etc. It didn't come with the upgraded sound system, but I'm not missing it so much.

If I got a GTS, I'd probably end up getting rid of two cars, so "settling" for a base 718 made more sense for us, but the entire range is pretty awesome although somewhat pricey. We got ours CPO which helped a little.

OP Agree with everything you said. The Cayman is an amazing car but that engine/exhaust noise is just a let down. The new GT4 will sell out very quickly.

I bought the roof rack and dual bike holders for my M2. My wife and I travel to races (Mostly time trials) and it'll be fun to cruise there in the M2 with the bikes perched on top.

If you are not tall and have a great back then the Cayman GTS is a great car. Everyday city driving for taller people who want more comfort I would pick the M2 over the Cayman S. Weekend only car and as a second car I would pick the Cayman GTS over M2.

Today I testdrove a 718 boxster T for about 1 hour. To be honest I feel underwhelmed. I don't really get it how 718 cayman/boxster are the rivals for M2. Next week I'm gonna test drive 992 for 4 hours.
