order of mod upgrades

2019 m2c
-stage 2 bm3
looking to start on track mods. about to attend my second event and addicted already .
Wanting to avoid coilovers for now.
Plan:
-19x9.5/10.5 apex forged
265/285 35 re71r? or 265/295 30 ado8r?
fine with a little liner scrub 250km drive to track
GC camber plates, toe links, 2.5-1.7r
pagid yellow pads+motul 600.
not alot of front pads for bbk
does the extended life pay for the high cost?

is this the proper list for 200tw tires with 3-4 track days a year? (car is parked November-april)

Hi Tia,

Good mod list, but do you already have at least a double digit number of track days or driver education under your belt?

I ask because driver mod is money best spent. Your mods are pushing the car heavy towards track car, but with more power and more grip comes more heat. I did not see any cooling mods. More power will need more cooling (intercooler, aux coolers, radiator etc.) so I would skip the engine tuning for now and focus on brakes/tires/ suspension adjustments.

I get the driver mod part. power mods are installed for the street that's why I have so much boost reduction for track use. In Canada so cooler conditions and the S55 cooling capacity I figure will suffice.
Problem is that after this next session my mpss outside shoulder will be getting worn and I want to still have a set for roadtrips with the family and near freezing temps.
So as much as re71r are past my skill level I want something more for the street.
daily drive my car so trying to avoid coilovers til.my skill pushes the car that far.
In hindsight I should have put on camber plates before I tracked car but here we are now

For what it's worth, my coilovers (Ohlins RT) transformed the car. Ride is now better than stock. Handling on road is better. Handling on track is insane. And if you are already having a shop do labor on the plates it's efficient to also have them install the coilovers

Other FWIW comment is I have a RE71 track wheel set... the grip is so good and addictive that I've decided to also run RE71's on the OEM rims for street duty.

Whew. RE-71Rs wear FAST. For street the PS4S is good on dry pavement, and great on wet. M2 Bonus: 4 tires will fit on the back seat, so I drive to the track on PS4S then switch to track wheels/tires. If it's rainy, I leave the PS4S on.

Good observation on the camber plates/coilovers. I really wish I'd gone ahead with the Ohlins at the same time. But I was cheap. So now it'll cost me more in the long run. Going to do Ohlins next, and will look at tune/FMIC after my car is out of warranty next year.

Hopefully by then my driver mods will be ready for it......

I would only do brake fluid, pads and camber plates if I were you. Every thing else you mentioned will not help you much if any, right now. If your tires are shot, maybe bump up to 255/275-35 4Ss. 245/265-35 is just not enough tire for the M2C imo.

Learning how to drive and having fun is the most important thing you can do at the moment - if you really want to learn how to drive and get fast.

My suggestions:
1) BM3 stage CS+ will be enough for beginning
2) invest to your coilovers (Öhlins R&T, KW Clubsport, Nitron, Intrax or others), if you don't want now - buy springs (Eibach or some others) and anti roll bars (H&R or some others)
3) 19x9.5/10.5 apex forged 265/295 30 R888, R888r or ideally Trofeo R and put them on just for track days
4) GC camber plates, 3.0f - 2.0r (over 2.0r you need upper arms and toe link, under you don't)
5) Endless ME20, stainless steel brake lines (Goodridge for example) and Motul 600 or 660.

Keep enjoying your car

Just get a good set of brake pads and high-temp fluid. Focus on yourself and learning how to drive on track.

Nothing else is needed until you get a little more experience and pick up the pace to the point you start killing tires.

Garage List
This is solid advice. Solid.

- Get some high temp pads and fluid, and thoroughly bleed the system.
- Check all fluids
- Torque all lug nuts to 89 ft/lbs
- Begin with tire pressure a little less than you would use on street

Then, start slowly and ease into it. It's way easier than starting hot and having to dial back.

Remember, any monkey can press the loud pedal. It takes talent to turn. And more to brake.

Stay safe and have a blast!

Two on top of each other side by side or 4 side by side like books on a shelf?

I was wondering how I would get wheels to the track.

Super-late reply, but they'll fit with 2 in each back seat, with the wheel face of each toward the back. Put in the front wheels first, one on each seat, then put in the back tires.
