Yep mine failed at 3000miles. It was the low pitch horn, so my M2 sounded like a clown car haha!

BMW fitted a new one under warranty.

Has yours stopped altogether? It could be the switch on the steering wheel behind the area you press

Is this a troll post to make us go out to our car and honk our horns? I'm onto you.

LMAO! I actually used mine for the first time (as best I can recall) a couple days ago. I've had the car for more than a year.

Reminds me of a friends Trans Am back in the 90s. We were out in it one day and got stuck in rain (God Forbid! He was freaking out LOL) and he found out the hard way that his windshield wipers did not work. (I just sat there and kept my mouth shut as I didn't want to get his steroid rage turned at me!)

Can someone tell me how to make my horn stop working? It's embarrassing to have a sound like that come out of an M2. I try not to use it.

Rather have a loud horn than a loud exhaust. Love how straight pipe Harley riders tell you that their insanely loud exhaust let's people know they are there and saved their life yet they aren't wearing a helmet!

I always use my horn to let people know I am there if they loose focus, especially on the freeway when they don't look and are about to change lanes in front of you. In heavy traffic where you can get caught in someone's blind spot for example. I watch their hands on the steering wheel as well and have my hand ready to hit the horn. Saved me quite a few times, especially on motorcycles. The dual Fiamm horns on my old RS Beemer are among the best. People know you are there when those baby's go off!

You could replace it with something with a bit more character.

https://fiammcomponents.com/en/home.aspx

This Italian company is known for its air horns.

Here the same at 8000 miles but I really don't know whether it is the low or the high pitch. Next week I am going to see my dealer for that. Normally it should be fitted under warranty.

Dont you hate when that happens? In my opinion if something broke stay broke dont do this intermittent BS.

Also I haven't used the horn more than 2-3 times so far owning this car, so I probably should test this out before my warranty is done because I do not want to pay money to fix a horn.

On a side note there are superceding part numbers for the horn, albeit the old part numbers are not discontinued yet. I wonder if this new horn part number is more durable.

I rarely used my horn in the two years of ownership. I was beeping at my buddy and found out it sounded like a clown horn! WTF? LOL. It worked today too. Let’s see what the invoice will say tomorrow after they fix it.

My horn was fixed earlier this year. MY17. A clown car, no more.

Who uses their horn?
