I'm in AZ with FBO running stage 2, 91 octane 5.7 and it has been great as far as driving. Any reason I should change to ACN and will it have less power or just not as harsh on the car? I use shell 91 octane.

Highly recommend that you do on your current OTS map to see if your car is actually ok. These 3 states and more on the west coast are well known to have truly bad gas. Best to be sure for your case

Thanks. What might the gas cause if the car feels like it runs fine and what's the difference with the ACN tune?

You won't feel anything just cruising but you will have inconsistent timing when pushing your car and even then you won't feel it. This is why all tuners no matter the car or platform create tunes while viewing logs in real-time in one form or another. Just because you don't feel something does not necessarily mean your engine is not running at an optimal level

All tunes are specific to the gas available to the owners. ACN map is just another offering for our gas to get the most reliable and safe power for the gas available. Check my ACN forum thread and you'll see what I mean

All the research I've done indicates that ACN91 is still 91 octane, and that the difference is there are more detergents in ACN91 than other USA 91. Detergents to me mean something that will break down the oil as it lubricates the cylinder walls. So my inclination is to believe the ACN91 tune has a little less boost and/or timing than the regular 91 tunes, to prevent excess heat on the engine oil which is slowly degrading due to the fuel detergents.

Found plenty of 100octane pumps in Nevada since I've moved out here.

I'm a happy camper. And the car certainly performs better.

It meets the requirements of being 91 octane (maybe) by combing RON and MON in a way that's inferior to other non ACN 91 fuels. The amount of knock Nezil was getting on the stock BMW M2 tune on ACN 91 was disturbing.

Halim, if I want to get in touch with you should I email Protuningfreaks or something else? Since I just created an account I can't message you first on the forum. Thanks in advance!

I just realized what ACN is after reading this thread and looks like Im supposed to use that tune given I'm in Vegas.

I flashed my car with stage 1 91 fairly recently and it feels fine to me. The interesting thing is the ACN 91 shows that it is BETA.

Anyone switched from regular to ACN that can share their experiences?

Yes. I'm in California and created a thread with my experience. Check my history. For me ACN map was a must even on stage 1
