This is very interesting news. Does anyone know if this is just for CPO vehicles? Also did you have to purchase it from a BMW dealer? I purchased a used M2C (for my wife) from a private car dealer back in May with 9000 mls on it. I'm the 3rd owner. Thanks, and much appreciation for any information you can provide.

Nope. Mine was used not CPO and still has active maintenance plan. Check the app.

Thanks for your response. Do you know if this is referred to as a "refresh" for the maintenance? And if so do you know what I could expect to pay for it? Tia.

Yes, it's called refresh … and any dealer can do it, and once refreshed it's valid across US.

maybe my dealerships stock just went up a notch in my book because no questions asked and no charges required to get my free maintenance on my cpo car.

Anyone know of a socal dealership that will do the xfer? I called Santa Monica and New Century and they both said no go.

I started a thread in the regional section asking the same thing but thought I’d get more visibility here.

They shouldn't have a choice. Call BMW directly if you have a problem.

Gotcha. Thanks.

I was hoping I didn’t have to go that route, but will if I have to.

So I see on my contract for a used M2 purchased 9/10/2021 "BMW PPM Upgrade" .. but when I look under Warranty and Service on MyBMW it says Ultimate Care+ start date 7/20/2019..

Should I be getting my money back and getting my local dealer to reinstate the original ultimate care instead?

Hi everyone. I purchased my M2 private party and was able to transfer the 3/36K maintenance over the phone for $100 (thank you for the referral VisualEcho ). I asked the rep if he'd be willing to do it for others and he said he was. I don't want to post his info on a public site, but if any of you want his info shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to connect you with him.

Every 30k miles. I also don't know what kind of crazy 6 hour estimate OP got. When I got them changed the estimate was 2.25 hours + $100 for the plugs ($25 markup from the mechanic essentially on parts). That is why you fund an independent mechanic!

I was able to transfer my car's remaining maintenance thanks to this thread. I emailed the local dealer; they were able to email me forms and took my CC over the phone. Thank you!

Definitely good info! I need to do this.

https://www.bmwusa.com/explore/bmw-v...onditions.html

I was reading the NON-TRANSFERABILITY section on the BMW site and thought it couldn't be transferred/refreshed. I bought mine used from a non-BMW dealer. It only has 3k miles on it.

NON-TRANSFERABILITY
These maintenance programs are available to the exclusive benefit of the initial purchaser, owner, or lessee of a new vehicle, sales demonstrator vehicle, Aftersales Mobility Program vehicle, or BMW Group company vehicle from an authorized BMW center in the United States (including Puerto Rico). Coverage is not transferable to subsequent purchasers, owners, or lessees. The sole exception to the non-transferability of coverage is that household transfers—transfers within the United States (including Puerto Rico) to members of the household of the initial purchaser, owner, or lessee of a BMW vehicle from an authorized BMW center—will not terminate coverage.
Household transfers are limited solely to transfers to a current or former spouse or spousal equivalent, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild from the initial purchaser, owner, or lessee of a vehicle. In the event of a household transfer, purchasers, owners, or lessees of a BMW vehicle should promptly advise their authorized BMW center to document and confirm the household transfer for purposes of coverage. The payoff of a loan on a vehicle by the initial purchaser and the purchase of a leased vehicle by the initial lessee are not considered transfers for purposes of coverage.
