Are there things you dislike about your M2C?
Just wondering. Such an amazing car but what don't you like about it?
Small fuel tank? Lack of covered storage (coming from a Cayman, i.e. doors)? Wheels (PITA to clean)? Sound of Exhaust (according to some)? Seat bottom bolster (not the most comfortable for highway driving)? What say you? |

I wish it had a head-up display. That and the small tank are the only things. Very minor comparatively!

Girls always ask me to take them to the strip club when I pick it up from the valet. Obviously this car looks too much like an Uber or Lyft ride.

The non adjustable headrest because when you're wearing a helmet it pushes your head forward and you can't run your harness belts through it either.

-would prefer to run 18in wheels
-Excessive brake dust and noise -wheel/finder gap is a bit much -small full tank -manual shifter feels rubbery -exhaust pops and bangs are to fake/boy racer for my taste…hate to void a warranty for minor changes -armrest rubs seat/excessive wear -wish exhaust setting was separate from throttle -would love stock camber adjustments Mostly minor things, but a lot of them are expensive to correct somewhat small changes so likely won't get done… |

Bimmercode and/or Bimmerlink take care of that

Not really. No car is perfect, but for my needs as a DD at this point in my life I am very happy. The small gas tank is not an issue for me with my commute. I like that the car doesn't have too much tech/nannies. I don't really care that the wireless phone charger is worthless, there is no heads-up display, etc.
I'm a glass half-full person, but I will also say this - I've perfected my wheel cleaning technique to 5 minutes per wheel on the M2C, similar to my other cars!

Almost 3 years of ownership.
Just like 1M and OG M2: -Fuel tank too small -Sat Nav not updating, and if so, still slow and silly compared to Waze/Google maps on iPhone -Bumpy ride on medieval streets etc That's about it. Cheers Robin |

The blank switch should be an independent on/off switch for the rev matching.

Owned the car for 4 months. There's pros and cons to every car. So let me do a quick list format review.
What I love about the car:
What I like:
What I'm neutral about:
What I dislike:
What I hate:
Conclusion: This was the only car I could buy new under 70k that could do everything I needed it to do. I wanted a compact sized sporty car that could be a daily driver. I also didn't want a car that attracts too much unwanted attention, wanted to park this at work without people noticing it. I think the M2 accomplished all that. It's worth it at 60,000 ish USD new. But if you can stretch your budget a bit more and are willing to sacrifice some practicality, I personally think there's better options (even though they aren't as well rounded) Another issue was that in total I've spent about $80,000 when you factor in PPF, ceramic, M performance carbon bits, exhaust, 763 wheels, etc. At that price it was too much for what it is. And I was still working on making this car sound good, so I would give the car a 7/10. But if you get the sound right it would be 8.5/10 from me. I think what one rates this car will really depend on what they are looking for out of a car. Really think about what you want. If you want the fastest car there's other options, if you want the best interior there's other options, if you want the best handling there's other options. You can think of the M2 as a jack of all trades, but master of none. |
