Zunsport grills have worked great, looked great. Always getting compliments, and they stop a lot of bugs as well as stones. They gave me a discount code to share w/others for 10% off: JD221018

1. M Performance coilovers. Totally transformed the feel and experience. I know it's just a mid range in the coilover realm but what a welcome upgrade for a street driven daily.
2. 763M wheels. Again, doesn't seem like much but I have 3 sets of wheels, can compare them back to back, and these take abuse just fine and the ride is always smoother and more comfortable, no matter the tire, and more controlled on these than the 437Ms the car came with. 3. Not to going to mention cosmetic stuff because it's just cosmetic. 4. Micheline PS4S tires... a questionable upgrade as the fronts are 5 mm narrower and the rears are 5 mm wider and somewhat heavier and I still don't like the jelly-like responses (compared to star spec PSS tires), and I had to compensate for their inadequacies with a different alignment and 3 mm spacers in the front but they do have better traction, hot or cold, dry or wet. from small to big $
1) mud guards / flaps - wish i done them when i first got my car - cheap and helps save the paint 2) PPF front of car - 3) dinan performance tune - warranty and wakes the car up 4) exhaust upgrade of some sort - EL Midpipe / MPE exhaust = transforms the car but quite costly $$ and many options to choose 5) Mperformance coilovers - stance and difference in feel is huge and worth the $ 4k installed and BMW part . 6) m763 wheels and cup 2 tire package - i love look of the wheels and tire performance - if i did again or drove the car more often i( weekend / nice day car for me) i would of got PS4's.. net net i dont love the 788 wheels... but a more cost effective option is to have them powder coated all gloss black which i do think look pretty good - the one much needed upgrade i still want and will get is the auto solutions shifter and then car will be pretty close to being done... |

Bumpstop for sure. But the longer I have the car the more I think the rear OEM spoiler addon is the mustiest of the must!
When I see pics of an M2 without one, to me it looks so obvious that it is missing something.

In ascending order of 'worthiness'
1. Bilstein coilovers & corner balanced - for a daily driven car a must 2. Michelin PS4S tires - must improvement in ride quality and lower road noise over factory pilot super sports 3. Akrapovic cat back exhaust with Litchfield UK remap - who doesn't like more power 4. BC Forged TD06 wheels - lighter than the stock 788s 5. Xpel stealth PPF |

Thanks for the part numbers! For the inner quarter panel pieces, are these for the trunk? If so, do you just remove the carpeting to install?

I can't emphasize this enough, but my top mod was beaded seat covers.

In order to remove that panel, the lower rear seat needs to come out and the side bolsters for the folding rear seat need removed. Without those steps, the panel is "captured" by those parts. The upholstered side panel itself is held in by a handful of plastic push-in clips along the front edge and middle and some larger clips at the top along the window. It is tedious but not difficult work to remove all the bits to get access. |

I haven’t done anything mechanical...yet
1. Xpel/PPF on front bumper, hood, a pillars and rocker panels. Rockers take a lot of abuse on this car. If you decide to PPF the hood do the whole hood otherwise the line may drive you nuts as it shows dirt easily and then highlights the area. 2. Red M1 & M2 buttons from ind on the steering wheel just adds that missing pop of color and emphasis on what those buttons are capable of. 3. Will be adding 763s in black 4. Will be adding the M electronic steering wheel Total waste of money: 1. Ceramic coating the wheels. Absolutely no discernible improvement in cleaning effort required. |

Things that have been worth it so far:
- PPF: I slightly scraped my fender against my garage. Was able to wipe and buff away the paint transfer and after sitting in the sun for a bit... looks like it never even happened. - Sliplo: Saved my CF lip a few times when I was in areas I've never been to before. - CF/leather steering wheel: I do not like alcantara steering wheels so I swapped that out as soon as I picked up the car. Plus, easier to clean wheel, particularly the CF part. - Bimmercode: So amazing to no longer see that stupid warning message appear on the iDrive every time you start the car. My seat moves back for easy ingress/egress. - Clutch Stop: No more dead space in the clutch pedal. I got the BMS one (kinda low quality as it's sort of falling apart after barely 3k miles of use), but was great while it lasted. Will probably look in to another brand next time. Wholeheartedly agree with IcewaterPete . The ceramic coating on the wheels was worthless. |

Mods that I would do again in a heartbeat:
- Bimmercode coding of various things - BMS clutchstop - Rennline exact fit phone mount (although it is shaking a bit more than I expected, checked and rechecked fitment and bolts) - Adams graphene coating on the paint and windows - Painting the udder matte black Waste of time: - As others have mentioned, I ceramic coated the wheels (against my better judgement) and it was a useless exercise. Maybe like 5% less effort is required, I would not do that again |

I am not a ppf or ceramic guy, but I will say that its probably worth getting the bumper ppf'd. I cry every time I wash my car and see little chips in the paint. I swear, this paint chips off itself....

I was never a fan of PPF because of the expense. I can say that when going on group drives in the mountains it pays for itself the first drive. All those tuned cars with sticky tires shower the front end with pebbles. At some quite excessive speeds at times. My PPF covered front end is showered with rock pock marks. I'm quite confident that when the PPF is removed the paint will be in good shape. YMMV 😉

I did not ppf because bought the car used and bumper already had some chips. If I had bought new I would have 100% ppfed. I would have gone for full hood and bumper but now that I have had the car I would have done roof (got a nice chip on the roof by windshielf) and definitely extended the factory ppf and done the rockers (I have mudflaps and help but still a ton of little chips that you really see up close). What I am going to do is get the bumper and hood repainted in a few years and then ppf as well, no use ppfing when you already have chips as it will being out the chips even more and look like crap. The paint on these cars is very thing. I put more of my own littlw chips in 4 months than on my last car in 3 years (and I highway drove that car 20k miles a year).
As far as ceramic the wheels, yall are crazy. Maybe you did wrong if you diy? I did it myself and did 2 coats and its incredible how much easier they to clean. Yes you cant just hit it with water and get all the dust out but once using a brush it comes out effortlessly and the best part actually is drying them, hit them with the lead blower and they dry in literally 20 seconds. I am so happy with that, that I am getting the whole car ceramic costed next month (paying someone to do it, doing the wheels was enough for me). |

My granny's (and now mine) 36hp '63 Bug had them and that car was a major part of my life growing up. Now I got a complex about them. Hahah, just kidding, but they are neat.
