2020 M2C HK674 Match Up7BMW Compatibility

Can someone confirm for me that the Match UP7BMW amp will work with 2020 M2C with Harmon Kardon 674 please?

It is my understanding that it will work, but could cause error codes if installed and taken to the dealership, in which case you may want to swap for the OEM amp prior to taking to the dealership.

HK 674 is part of the CAN bus, not the MOST bus, correct?

Is all the above accurate?

Thanks for your help, I've been researching numerous threads over the months and thought this was all the case, but can't seem to find confirmation of this when I search now. I keep running into threads discussing prior gen M2.

Yes, several of us are using it, and it works great once you spend some time tuning it well enough. And, yes, it can cause software update issues, apparently, but dropping the HK amp back in before bringing it in for service doesn't take long at all.

I've had mine for a few years (2017 M2) I've only had problems once when the dealership wanted to do some kind of software update.

I keep the stock app in the trunk so I just told them where it was and they plugged it back in, updated, and plugged my amp back in when they returned it to me.

I love this thing, it's night and day once you get the tuning done (which takes forever if you're not an expert like me and just winging it).

It also has a line out for a sub, so I cut a large hole in my rear deck and mounted an 8" sub right in the middle (there's plenty of room.. why is this not standard? so many other manufacturers do this...)

The sub was the last puzzle piece to finally get the car's audio to sound great and not like garbage.

Honestly, this is the one thing that makes me not want another BMW.. The powertrains are great, the chassis are great, but the audio systems are just dog shit and I like music. A 35k front heavy Acura blows every BMW out of the water in terms of audio. Lexus too.. too bad their cars aren't very fun to drive and Acura gimped the Type-S motor.. dilemmas.

If I ever buy another BMW I'll probably just have to factor in a few thousand extra to have a professional make the audio system not sound like I'm listening to my favorite music through a tin can while someone rubs shit in my ears.
