For me M2C is pretty much what I wanted (for the limited $$ I wanted to spend); and I knew what I am getting into. I personally didn't want any cool luxury features.
Two things that dislike though are - 1) learning curve to perfect 1st to 2nd spirited shift, (2) the rev hang, esp. to 2nd shift. Last edited by Lokguru; 09-30-2021 at 09:28 AM.. |

I pulled the trigger on the M2C because I've been blabbering about them since the beginning and with the way prices are, I can probably drive it and see what the G87 is like without losing too much money. I have a suspicion that I might have added yet another keeper to the collection.
Complaints? I've got a few, but then again, I've got complaints about all my BMW M's in one way or another (I'd say the least complaint for the E92 M3). All of them covered by everyone else here, absolutely non of them enough for me to say this is one of the best cars I've driven/owned. While I have high hopes for the G87, I'm not sure the F87's magic recipe (right size, looks, not taking itself too seriously, $60k) can be repeated. P.S. I had a G30 M550i as a daily for 4 months. I honestly don't miss HUD as much as I thought I would, but I do miss Remote Start. That's easily the most useful feature of the G-series cars that the F's don't have.

I would definitely pay for it if it was available.

I'm an automotive photographer and on the lookout for an immaculate 2NH brake package, so If one if you guys want to trade yours for a perfect set of blue brakes + cash, let me know. Mine have 10K miles on them, but have had Akebono pads since almost day 1, and the car is street driven, so the pads/rotors/calipers are perfect.
Just sayin'. |

I dislike the spacing of the drivers seat and the door frame. Specially how it's just slightly more narrow than the seat belt buckle so every single time I grab it, it gets stuck. I'm sure this was just from dropping the larger M3/M4 seats in a chassis designed for the non comp seats but still annoys me.

The poor ability to put power down is in my 'pro' category.

A couple of other things I've discovered:
1) Lack of cornering lights? 2) This is a little thing but to me, the front fender badge appears out of scale, i.e. too small, for the car. I think it would look better if it was longer. |

Coming from a dct m4 to the more enjoyable to drive manual m2c, I have only a couple things I like less. No head up display. Lack of full leather. And while I enjoy the look of the m2c instrument cluster, I hate clicking through to find info. Such minor things for a car that I love so much more.

Any dislike goes away when I start driving. Once exhaust noises are upgraded, you forget about everything else because now it's an even greater blast to drive.
If I had to list some: 1. Seatbelt height adjustment for my neck. 2. Wireless charger usability/location. 3. The 788ms being a pain to clean (although) the colors look great on an AW) That being said all are minor things that are imho completely livable with or at least fixable, which is part of making the car yours.

The Road noise on highway 17 near Los Gatos drives me crazy. Coming from 3 M5's, I'd like a much quieter interior. Still, I having so much fun that I love this car.

After 2+ years one things does continue to bother me. The seat belt (when worn) rubs against the upper part of the seat, next to the head rest area, and make this squeak noise all the time. It wont goi away
