A couple of observations and questions.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this...

1. The odometer in the car has only 5 digits. I've only driven a little over 3k miles, and it shows 03381, which means with a 5 digit odometer it will only go up to 99999 and then flip back to 0. Does it eventually add an extra leading 0?

2. When my side mirrors are folded in, the drivers side mirror folds in less than the passenger side mirror. In other words, the passenger side mirror folds in closer to the window than the drivers side. The difference is more than 1 inch. Is than normal or should I take it to the dealership and have them fix or replace it?

Thanks in advance.

Guessing it will add a zero, no way it will go back to zero at 99,999

Like he said ^

The mirrors should fold in similar fashion.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for the reply. I know there are a few members here who have already driven more than 10k miles, and was hoping one of them would chime in.

What about the side mirror question I had? Has anyone been able to check their mirrors to see if they fold in equally or does passenger side mirror fold in more than drivers side?

Thanks again.

Mine fold equally or close enough so I don't notice any disparity.

Thanks for the replies guys. On my car the difference between mirrors when folded is noticeable. I guess I'll take it in to have the mirrors adjusted/fixed/replaced.

The mirror thing is the same on mine, was even a bigger difference on my past F80 M3.

I see your wife has a 2015 X1?

I have a 2015 X1 as well, and what I've noticed is that the mirrors on my M2C fold in a LOT less than on my X1; like maybe half as much.

edit to add: if you adjust the mirrors differently on the left vs. the right (I know I do), wouldn't they fold in differently as well?

Yep, on my wife's X1 the mirrors fold in all the way, almost flush with the window, and the same was on my e92 335i. What bugs me is that the mirrors on my M2C fold in differently from each other. The drivers side mirror folds in about 1.5 inches less than the passenger side. Shouldn't they fold in the same amount? The mirrors are identical. And I tried adjusting the mirror glass inside the shroud to the same angle, but that didn't make any difference. When I push the button, the mirrors fold in, but stop at different angles.
