Intend to try CS to start with, just enjoy playing round like the old JB4/335i days but better!

Any idea on rough price and where you got yours? PM if you prefer.

PTF reached back out to me again and said that it IS okay to flash the CS map onto a 6MT M2C, so I'm good now!

Also, Bryan from Kies Motorsports confirmed this as well.

Thanks guys!

Sure, £425 from Tom at sales@tomwrigleyperformance.com

I found him on M3cutters. Good guy.

He just send you an activation code locked to your VIN, that's all you need.

Good to hear...

I will still wait out until Ecutek has released their solution for this platform before deciding who to go with...

The main issue is whether or not you’re willing to risk warranty denial on a crank hub issue. It’s not common, but it does happen.

Those worried about traction can limit the power with Torque reduction by gear if you want.

Or you can use a marvelous invention from back in my day...when bias ply tires were the best you could get. It’s called the accelerator pedal. In first and second you treat it like there’s a egg in its shell underneath.

Amazing what control you can develop with a little practice .. at stock power levels with sticky tires with TC off you can not go WOT without major wheel spin.

BM3 stage 1 is terrific. But in 1st & 2nd gear going WOT even w/295 rears, it’ll be like riding a wild horse on a frozen pond ! Big fun though...
Most fun is 3rd gear roll ons. It’s INTOXICATING

Yup and sterling may well be a 3rd world currency thanks to Brexit !!

However $505 mentioned above is £387 so still cheaper than TWR GBP price 😜

Yeah you're right, missed out on that - I had only seen it for $599 in US so was working on ~£470 (at the time) being the going UK rate..

Sterling up a little against USD today - making it cheaper still to buy it from US !

I haven't read the billion page thread on the m3/m4 site, so the answer is probably there, but I'll ask here to see if the answer is readily available.

How easy is the tune to detect? Not necessarily talking about flashing back to stock, but more if I did this is it easy to detect? I ask because the closest dealership to me isn't that mod friendly. I prefer less questions asked when I'm in for service.

Any update on ECUTEK? I’m very interested in tuning, either with bootmod3 or this. The double edged sword of having a new car is waiting for aftermarket to catch up.

As far as I'm aware, if you flash back to stock and lock the DME then there is nothing they can see using the regular ISTA diagnostic software that dealers use. Unless you've triggered a tuner detect code for example. Problem is then of course, if you have for example, Decat DPs then the CEL will be on when you take it in to the dealers (unless you clear faults outside the dealers then they won't run it far enough for CEL to come up).

There's probably nothing to see even if you don't flash back to stock, but you take your chances with that.

I would advise anyone tuning to have a copy of ISTA+ BMW diagnostics to read and clear any codes before taking to the dealers. There can be all sorts of hidden codes stored that don't raise the CEL that you wouldn't know about without ISTA. You can't see them with regular code readers either.

I don't know if BM3 has the full suite of BMW fault codes and module analysis that ISTA has.

Remember, dealers GET PAID WELL to do warranty work, they don't want to turn it down as long as they can satisfy BMW UK / USA then they will get paid. Any dealer going over the top looking for reasons to turn down profitable work would be a bad business...

Just went out for a spin...

It feels a bit faster and louder!

It's like 30 degrees out and I lost traction for a split second in 2nd gear...is it torque steer? IDK, but that's never happened on my stock tune before.

Also, I think I hear the air sucking sound and an ever so light blowoff now too.
