Did anyone else get a M thermos cup as a gift for participating in the survey?

They look you up in the system, verify you're an owner, then you can get up on your soapbox.

Here's what I told them:

* Put in a simple button that disables auto rev match on 6MT - most folks getting the 6MT want to heel and toe, and it should be a very simple / low cost software implementation

* Keep producing 6MT because it differentiates the brand as for classic driving enthusiasts

* Make more color choices available, especially individual

* Make all MP parts factory-installed options

* Paint the muffler matte black at the factory

Good luck, guys. Hopefully our community feedback will have some effect and move them in the direction we'd like!
You nailed it all..!! Thanks

And they've been "growing" since the E92 M3...for whatever reason, this is a thing for the smaller M cars.

Interestingly enough, I found an M2C at a nearby dealer, and went by on Sunday to check it out (I have seen them inside for delivery many times, but not as much in natural light, wanted to see the HS on a cloudy day), and there was an M5C parked next to the M2C.

I hadn't noticed it before, but the M5C doesn't have the udder...I guess I would have expected it to be present there too, but it's not.

Logically, there should be some sort of specific reason for the shape being that low hanging, but no idea what that might be...

Just for the love of God just don't get rid of the manual in the M2, I would even be fine if DCT was standard and I had to pay $2-3k for the manual...if that's what it took for BMW to make the numbers work then I would have no problem with it.

Question for folks wanting to turn off auto rev match: Now that we have this feature, can/does it prevent a person from destroying his/her engine by over-Reving it because they accidentally got into the wrong gear?

No, how would it do that? It can't actuate the clutch or move the stick or anything like that.

It might stop you from money shifting because you hear it blip to the rev limiter, I would assume.

The thought was that it would know vehicle speed and gear about to be selected so would cut/limit engine electronically possibly

You can still "money-shift" a vehicle with auto-rev matching.

Do a search in the M4 section and you'll find a lot of "I money-shifted my car and greedy, stupid BMW doesn't want to fix it for free" articles..

I did a few weeks ago - still sitting in my inbox waiting for me to do it though. Also got a JD power one in the mail.
