Really hope ///M marketing is reading this and will offer a unique ///M colour for the upcoming M2CS. Misano blue is a great colour but it's not ///M specific.

Note: since the MY2020 M240i is getting the LBB, is there unique ///M colour anymore?

We can still hold on to Hockenheim Silver for now!

I was thinking more M2CS specific like LRG for the M3/4CS...

-Unique CS front lip or bumper design (not just regular M performance)

With all due respect, I don't think BMW will bespoke make any parts for the M2 CS. Meaning we can pretty much forget about the OLED tail light, exclusive front lip and bumper.

We do only reasonable wishful thinking - fender and trunk.

Though Color is first thing they can do.

I'm at my dealer's right now and parked my car next to a Misano blue X2. LBB doesn't really stand out under weak lighting but I'll leave the judgement to you guys.

Why am I not excited about this blue?

Maybe it will grow on me, I dunno?

But, I'm not loving it right now and I would have preferred they pick a color no other BMW can have or at a minimum a color that is super popular and loved by many.

Exactly. It doesn't have to be a blue. Limerock Grey would be gorgeous.

From a pure aesthetic point of view, M2 works best with Red/Orange, because of its menace aggressive look and black/carbon bits addition.

Though the Laguna Seca Blue would be nice looking and yet most emotional as a tribute to the legendary E46 CSL.

Misano won't do it. Hard to swallow.

Things I'd love to see this car have...

Colours -
As others have suggested, something special to the CS.
I don't hate Misano Blue; and pic above compared to LBB show why I don't personally don't like LBB - the teal / green factor.
But Misano being available on a regular yummy Mummy toy SUV makes it a far less appealing option.
I'd like to see Black, White, a bright blue or red, and a grey. Whether there was a frozen as well.
Grey is what I want. Space grey.
Perhaps offer individual paint? On that point, when I pushed for individual paint in my M2C, I was told the factory wasn't able; but it would be upgraded sometime in 2020. I was also told that by time the factory was upgraded, the M2C might not be in production. The M2CS on the other hand, the stars might align!

Unique options -
I don't think the car should just have catalogue parts tacked on. Fine if some are. But there needs to be some uniqueness.
Perhaps-
Option for rear seat delete
Option for ti exhaust
Option for Carbon driveshaft (or just include)
Option for bucket seats - which would force rear seat delete.

The M2C offered significant mechanical value over the M2. The M2CS won't be able to do the same, and will be a "sprinkles on top" situation. Key here, for me, as that those sprinkles - or at least some of them - need to be otherwise unobtainable for an M2C.

Wheels-
Option for either black, gold or grey 763m's. Don't force only one colour option.

Power-
I'm hoping that by time this car comes out there is no need for any hierarchy based strategic limitations on power output; because I assume that the M4/CS will no longer be in production. Meaning that, just give the M2CS the power that has already been deemed safe for the M4CS.

Price-
I see the value in this car at the same proportional premium observed between the M3/4 ZCP and M3/4 CS - IF it's a fixed run of x cars. If it's a "make as many as we can during this time period" situation, it lowers the premium amount I would find palatable.

Finally - so so stoked that there is a manual option! Well done BMW on that point alone 👍

Apparently not entirely true...but be prepared to drop some serious coin...some guy in the US has paid $20K to get his 2C factory painted SMB. There is a thread on here somewhere about it...

For those of you who's wondering what the carbon MP trunk looks like in real life.

Personally I think it's the proper rear end look for the CS, except that it should be painted to match body color.

No need for saving the existing parts for the CSL. More I think about it (conflict with G80, performance and cost wise), more unlikely it seems for M2 CSL to be happening.

But as you noticed, M2 CS test mules feature an add-on CF trunk spoiler ā la M3 CS and M4 CS (no integrated 'ducktail' ā la M2 M Performance Parts CF tailgate).

See this earlier post for a comparison.

I wonder if that is the final configuration. That photo also looks like it has the original diffuser which I doubt the CS would come with. If the CS comes sans CF parts then we can reduce the MSRP price point.

Thanks for the comparison! I prefer the add-on spoiler similar to the M4CS.

CF front splitter, CF hood, add-on CF trunk spoiler and CF diffusor as stock features = CS language.

Compare with M4 CS test mules (see here): CF diffusor was spotted at later test stage.

M2 CS = 6MT stock and M-DCT optional (alike the original M2 and M2 Competition).
Here you go, Gorro47 and M3 Adjuster: M2 CS test mule with 6MT, M CS seats (cut-outs: see M3 CS and M4 CS) & M alcantara steering wheel.

Not a fan. I would buy it if it was all one single swooping/arching piece like the E46 CSL... that split look is weird.

So a revised seat and alcantara wrapped steering wheel are what they call the "Black alcantara/leather mix" and "unique interior trim".

BMW got balls these days.

I wonder when we will see this thing at an auto show - hopefully soon, so we can get a full picture of all the inside and outside changes.
