I subscribed to their channel a few months ago. I like their 1st drive reviews compared to other youtubers since it's different to have two different perspectives/reviews focused on driving performance/dynamics and car tech.

Plus Canadians are awesome.

Yeah I love these guys. This is a great video and their personalities shine.

To be fair, I've never seen them say anything negative and they don't trash cars in their reviews. About the only bad thing they'll say is "I'm not a fan of ...."

I love those guys. The only thing they missed was the reason for BMW to go to S55 but it's not really that important.
One thing I learned from this is the intelligence of the MDM. I didn't manage to get it really loose on MDM probably because I'm too careful with the throttle. Can't wait to give it another shot.

came to post this here for the m2c guys, glad to see it's already up. every time I think next year I am going to buy a used n55 and use it as my daily highway beater, I see reviews like this and makes me rethink and just wait for a nicely used s55. n55 on autotrader at 39.9!! crazy.

def agree that this only deserves to be purchased with a manual tran though...dct no thanks..

Well, they have a 9" rear wheel on with stretched tires. Might be a 235 or 245 in the back. Also they are in winter conditions. So they experienced the car with more oversteer than normal.

Yeah, I don't know how big their snow tires were and the roads were wet so slippin' and slidin' is easy. However, with my M2C 6MT I can slide out the rear end just about any time I want to.

It looked like the standard 641m wheel set a bunch of us have purchased, so the rears are 235's stretched on 9 inch wheels.

Ah. Yea, I was really confused when I saw the wheels because I'm used to seeing 18" 513m as winter wheels. Was hoping these were some secret new 19x9 and 19x10 wheels. Would be sick if they were, they look lightweight.

I'm familiar with both, stock setup and square winter setup 245/40/18

Well there is, floor it @ 2000rpm, you hear the turbos spool up and from >2500 it's starting to pull severely.

You are referring to "turbo threshold"

Once the turbo's are spooled "aka above 3000ish rpm for this car" turbo lag refers to the time it takes the turbo's to re-spool. So say your in the correct gear for sport driving, you let off the gas for a turn or for whatever for a short burst "rpm still above 3000" and go to reapply throttle.....the time it takes for the turbo's to kick in fully again....THAT is turbo lag. So for this engine if he is referring to the actual definition of turbo lag....I would say yes...pretty much no lag

I always learned: Turbo lag is pressing throttle, (almost)nothing happens and later up the revrange you get the kick in the back.

What's the definition then? The latter I call turbo lag too....

Yea, me too. I used to refer to that as turbo lag....and to be fair that's the common definition. Pretty much 90% of people refer to turbo lag as what you are stating.

From a technical engineer standpoint though apparently that is referred to as "Turbo Threshold"
