Active Autowerke | M2 with BC Forged Track Wheels
Last week our BC Forged wheels came in and we had the chance to mount up our 275/35/18 Nitto NT05's and throw them on the car. We worked closely with BC to spec the perfect offsets for this car so that we could run a square wheel and tire setup. The front wheels are within a few MM of the strut and with -2.5* front camber the tire fits nicely in the fender. I don't think a larger wheel/tire combination is possible without modifying the fenders.
The wheels are BC Forged RZ39 in Matte Bronze. 18x10 et35 with a 12mm spacer up front. On our scales they came out to 19.4lbs each. The Nitto's have a super stiff sidewall with a decently soft compound so I'm excited to get them scrubbed in and on the track. I also have to mention that with the amount of times I've had the front wheels on and off the car, the Motorsport Hardware stud conversion made life so much easier. We're running their pitch conversion stud which converts the wheel mounting threads of the stud to 14x1.5 to make the threads stronger for repeated and heavy use. We'll be at Sebring International Raceway next weekend to put down some more laps with the updated car so I'll be able to update next week about how the car handles with the larger square tires! I'll definitely be posting some more photos once we get the car aligned and corner balanced at it's final ride height! |

Great looking setup guys! Glad to hear 18x10 et 23 fits up front with some meat and camber.
Would the stock strut protrude too far out compared to your coilover setup to run that? |

Thank you! I'm pretty sure this setup would work with a stock strut as long as you have camber plates. |

Update: After our corner balance and alignment we have some slight rubbing up front. With the aggressive offset and tire the tire touches a part of the tab where the bumper meets the fender. This was happening only on larger bumps or dips. We've since trimmed the tab and haven't had any issues so far. The true test will be at the track on Sunday when we put in some hot laps with the extra grip and power!

There should be, depending on how much camber you plan on running. |

David- can you shoot a pic of the tab you trimmed in the fender well? Any issues on track otherwise? What ride height did you target? Any thing you are wanting to improve after last weekend's track event?

We did have a couple issues as mentioned in the thread above, mainly heat related. I'll make sure to snap a pic of the tab the next time we get the car on the lift. We set the fender just above the tire so that it wasn't tucking at all when on level ground. There are a few more photos in the link above! |

I'm sorry you feel that way about their suspension systems but a few years ago they were taken under new ownership here in the US and have dedicated time and research in to building a quality product. I don't want to pollute this thread with suspension talk but if you have some time take a look at their motorsports development over the past few years and you'll see what I'm talking about. They've been extremely helpful with helping us dial in an M2 kit and after comparing our stock M2 shock dynos to the M4 shock dynos they're now building us a digressive shock kit for the M2 that will hopefully be ready for testing within the next few weeks. |

why the 12mm spacers up front if you're rubbing?

We ordered the wheels in a true square setup with the same offsets all around. The rear requires a higher offset of 35 while the front requires a lower offset to clear the strut inside the fender so we use a 12mm spacer to get an effective offset of 23.

Hey David,
With your experience with your wheel setup.. If I were to go with an18x9.5 ET25 on a 265/35 do you think I would rub? It's affectively the same offset as you but 10mm narrower due to width of the tire.. Also do you have any recommendations for offset if I want to run an 18x10.5 on a 295/35 rear? Thanks! |

For the rear I would say somewhere between 40 and 45. I believe IND is running 10.5 with a 295 on the rear of their car, maybe you can shoot them an email for the offsets? |
