I'm starting to investigate buying an OG M2, manual transmission, likely 2016-2018 with higher kms, as close to bone stock as possible.

Preferred timeline is sometime between now and spring 2025.

My preference is to avoid dealership markup by finding someone doing a private sale, thus this post. I'm based in Vaughan, ON, but would be willing to consider out of province for the right car.

I'm not in a hurry, will wait for the right one.

High km's don't really scare me - as long as the car has been well maintained. The N55 engine seems to have been pretty reliable so far as far as I can tell.

Also, I've scoured the interwebs and youtube for everything that I can learn about what things to look out for with these cars, but any advice from this community is appreciated.

For example, unlike many cars, this seems to be one where there aren't deals to be found by importing from the US - if anything they seem to be more $$$ there - curious if the community knows why this is the case?
