You really don't ever want to swap the discs from the hub. That's best left to the experts. ReBrake is your best bet there.

For clarity sake and confirmation. The only CCB rotors that will fit the F87C 2NH are ones specifically designed for the F87CS 2nk? The hats for m3/m4/m5 aren't the same?

Man, I can't get any satisfaction with these brakes. Now I have a hum here and there under light application, feels like a super fast light vibration. I've felt something similar before with normal iron brakes, like after driving out of the car wash under initial application when you're drying them off, the inconsistency of wet/dry causes them to hum for a second. My CCB are doing that now. Not sure if it's just one or more of them. I've looked them over and they look perfect. I also don't seem to have any issues when using them hard, but I normally don't use them hard. Hope I can get all this worked out!

Maybe a pad dragging a bit? Might clear up with a little driving? Hate this for you as I can only imagine how frustrating this is.

I'm not sure what the intermittent humming noise is, kinda' scary, but my brake guru says it's fine. I'm pretty sure the intermittent squealing is because I don't use the brakes even medium hard, ever. To be honest, having the Lotus since 2009 has ruined me for brakes. That car is all about carrying speed, using the brakes is the enemy, and it turns so good that all I have to do is turn the wheel at any speed and it turns, no need to put on the brakes. I drive all performance cars that way now, I carry speed much more than I use the brakes, it's just something I've learned to do. But with the M2 being a pure street car, and only seeing sideways 2nd gear pulls I'm just not using the brakes the way they should be used, which I think was fine with the 2NH, but not with the 2NK. I'm going to have to beat on them a bit.

What a difference

I didn’t change the booster and just coded the first go around and the braking was very abrupt. Then wow brought to bmw to put CCB booster in a code brakes and the difference is amazing!!!! Those of you that aren’t doing the booster I respect that decision but it is a world if difference it is braking is more compliant and smooth….

I had the same feeling when I made the change, after doing the coding everything worked correctly.

Right? I don't even have the names of what's being coded.

Deactivate these two functions, the second one works only if you track the car.

C_Funktion_Bremsbereitschaft_aktiv_I

C_Funktion_Fadingkompensation_aktiv_I

And what exactly does each do?

C_function_brakereadiness_active_I
Means that the brake is already preloaded with pressure if you suddenly take your foot off the accelerator.
Basically intended for emergency braking, so that the brakes give a lot of pressure before the brake pedal is even pressed.
If you take your foot off the gas quickly and abruptly, the car thinks that emergency braking is imminent.

C_ Funktion_Fadingkompensation_aktiv_I =
Compensates for the fading of the brakes by simply giving more and more pressure via ABS.
So the brakes are getting hotter and hotter, the brake fluid is boiling and you still have the feeling in the car that everything is fine because the pedal pressure is correct.

Just a 4 month update on these brakes.

1. Did I get a great deal on them? I think.
2. Are they dustless? Nearly.
3. Do they look the business? For sure.
4. Do they work awesome? Hell yes.
5. Do they squeal like pigs unless I'm regularly hard on them? Yes.
6. Do they chirp all the time like the pad and rotor are touching? Yes.
7. Do they have a weird hum here and there at low speeds? Yes.
8. Do they raise my blood pressure every time I take a wheel off or put it back on? Hell yes.
9. Are they terrible in the wet. YES.
10. Would I do it all over again? No.
