The color of the car is generic when the car is first entered into the system. It will change to the color you ordered as it enters production. Your CA should be able to tell you your production week or you can call the BMW genius line to find out. Congrats on the new car!

Has anyone's week 42 completed production yet? I had an estimated completion of 10/15 but still is in production according to the genius line. Yeah, this is just me being petty and impatient, but just curious.

I had an estimated completion of 10/14, but as of yesterday it was in QC according to the Genius line.

I also had an estimated completion of 10/13, but according to the automated genius line, it still says "estimated completion date 10/13". I'll probably call back today and speak to a rep.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know how frequently ships depart from Germany? Every week? Once a month?

Do the week productions overlap? If Week 42 started 9/29 and didn't finish until this week, has week 43 already started or it won't start until next week? I assumed it followed the Epoch converter unless it's some sort of internal week production schedule.

Anyhow, week 45 is coming up and it's gonna be a white Christmas

Subtract 2 from the production week for average production start week.

Yeah they said today that it's in quality check since 10/15. I guess just a little more waiting...worth it though!!

Called back an hour ago. Car was completed and is on its way to the port! They don't have any info on a ship yet unfortunately though.

So hopefully I'm just a day or two behind. Congrats and let us know what boat you're on!

A BMW typically waits a week at port on average according to Genius. My car waited 5 days. You can also look at the shipping schedules to determine the likely boat. WW and "K" Line are two of the most common used.

Don't use the BMW website to determine status. It and the 1800 number provide incorrect and 2-3 day delays for info!

The website was about 30 hours late on my move from 112 to 150. But my dealer was on it and emailed me immediately.

I've never tried calling any number but Genius, so I don't know anything about the 800 number of the website.

was referring to 18008311117. At one point this info source said my car was waiting for carrier, then back in production for 4 days, then waiting for carrier again.

Sounds like they forgot to put in a backseat. It's all good now.

Yeah, it just went haywire. The status provided by Genius and dealer was accurate the whole time however. There is no method to get accurate info without bothering a person which seems broken.

When I was checking my schedule, looked like next batch of ships from both K-line and WW were leaving 25th-26th timeframe.

It depends, in part, on where your car is going. It took two weeks between when my car was completed and when it got on a ship. A few other cars that were completed around the same time got on an earlier ship since theirs were going to the east coast. Mine was going to Galveston so it just had to wait for a ship that was going there.

Can't wait for you 42'ers to ship. My 43 is scheduled to complete production on 27th.
