Hi M owners.

I went for a drive and my friend beside me is recording the acceleration.

I noticed the Peak HP reading from the sport display is higher than what the factory claims

Bmw claimed the M2C has a peak output of 410hp. (Correct me if im wrong)

In mine, as shown on the picture, the peak reading is about 450hp. (The one i put an arrow on is the peak)

This is a rolling (20km/h) kickdown full throttle.

My car has catless downpipe and catback akra exhaust.

And NO Tune!

Do you think this is normal?

There is a wheel spin when it jumps to that 450hp mark… when no wheel spin, it maxed out at 410hp-420hp. Maybe this is what causes it to reach 450hp?

Many many thanks guys!

It's there for novelty. If it was supposed to be accurate, I think they would have made it easier to read.

Good catch I haven't checked mine to be honest.

Maybe the claimed BMW figures is whp and iDrive shows bhp?

Is your car stock? Some tuning flashes also change the iDrive display values.

The question is what does it display at around 6000-6500 rpm when power is sustained without wheelspin?

Low gear with wheelspin will not show accurately, and especially on older firmware in the NBT Evo and DME.
I wouldn't concern myself much with it.

No guage inside your car is going to accurately display horsepower. Cars just don't work like that.

As someone else said, it's just a novelty.

Well it matches the m2 CS power numbers. Did BMW accidentally give you a CS DME tuning or at least set the idrive power gauges to CS settings?

6000-6500rpm will display 410-420hp. The 450 can only be touched on first boost spike on kickdown.

Car's istep is an 11/20 version.
