M2 LCI - 2018 model only?
Hello all, I am looking for a preowned, manual, LBB M2 but I really like the updates on the LCI.
I have watched videos where the LCI is a 2017 edition, but is this entirely true or are the updates only on the 2018 models? |

LCI is 2018 model year, which started production in July 2017. It could be that someone is confusing model year with year of production perhaps?

Well it's being phased out after the 2018 model year for the 2019 M2 competition. So yes it is a one year run car.

In Australia cars are always spoken of in production years not model years. So the LCI is considered a 2017 model here. Could be you saw an Australian video.

This is an absurd assumption with very little reason to believe. But if true I'd be very happy to know my LCI is a small run

certainly not kidding, and i think CAs know less than we do on here. I've only heard from a few thread members about shortages in the UK that make leaping assumptions to an end of life.

"There will be a 2019 M2 which is the production model and open for any orders. The CS is a limited Edition and will be numbered." from my dealer

The current info on forum is that the M2 CS will start production sometime in 2019 and yes it will be limited but no one knows for sure because ynguldyn has not confirmed the specs and production timetable for the M2 CS. The only info I would trust right now on the forum is that M2 Competition is replacing the current M2. |

Honestly I only care insofar as I'm not interested in the M2 Competition or M2 CS so I'm anxious to get an allocation for a 2018 LCI M2. Fortunately I'm #1 at my dealer so I should be (touch wood) good to go in January.

What exactly are your saying?
Are you saying that the current M2 with the N55 engine will still have the same specs for the MY19 production year and that there won’t be a new M2 Competition model. Is that what you are saying? Are you also saying that your source is telling you that the M2 CS is starting production in 2018? |

The M2 CS is the same as the "competition" and there will only be 1000 units produced worldwide with only 30 making their way to Canada. He did not specify price nor build date but implied it will be branded a MY19 meaning it will be built in July 18

If the source of your info was someone at BMW Canada then it would have some real credibility instead of coming from someone at your dealership. Most of the time dealers give the wrong info to there customers about future BMW models. |
